No, was not too late!
Well, it was last minute, but was able to take in my first Bench Rest competition - it was what I was hoping it would be, fun and informative.
As soon as I arrived I was welcomed with open arms and treated like part of their family. I quickly found that not only are bench rest shooters meticulous to detail (anal

they are extremely friendly and open to help you out in any way they can.
The only thing missing was more people like myself there. This would not only be beneficial to promote the sport of Bench Rest shooting but would have promoted the competitive edge required to strive for continuous improvement – yes I am competitive and no I was not in their class of accuracy. Tough when you’re the only one using standard gopher gun equipment.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Robert Seemann for letting me use one of his rifles for one agg – it certainly raised the excitement of competition and was real eye opening to know how truly accurate these rifles are and how wind does play a major role in being consistent.
In closing, for you that have yet to take in a bench rest competition – take the plunge, you will not regret it. Oh, and don’t forget to bring someone you know with you so you can kick there butt in the process.
Cheers Claude
