Buddy wants a ruger auto ,why?

Does it take a little time to get use to the decocker? .it kind of makes me nervous, the hammer dropping like that."Its a little freaky man,you know what I mean."Use to single actions,I guess.

A new CZ is about $200 more than a new ruger. My friend is a poor working boy,and scottish.[I don't care what he says ,it still a skirt jimmy.]

Just looked at GUNS &THINGS . wow thay are cheaper there. Where are thay at?

Decocker is a little frightening the first time you use it on a loaded chamber, but after that it's nothing.

There is a firing pin block that is only moved when the trigger is pulled, so the hammer drop (decock) can NOT fire the pistol, unless something is seriously broken.

As always, only decock when the firearm is pointed in a safe direction blah blah blah. Assume it MAY go off (it won't, but assume it will).

KP89 is a great little gun... if you're going Ruger, make sure you get the Stainless (K prefix) as it looks waaaay sweeter... no rust either!

Email him and ask for a price list; all the CZ firearms he carries are not listed.

I have been researching handguns since I will be purchasing my first in the next few months and on another thread I was told that the Ruger's are crap because of their accuracy and their triggers. I was seriously considering one until I heard that. Now I have never heard anyone bad mouth the CZ. The price difference is a little significant. NIB Ruger P89 - $479 (Wholesale) and a NIB CZ 75 - $599 (Ellwood Eps) so the question is are you getting a hundred dollars more gun with the CZ ?? :D

About a year and a half ago I read the article in the Shotgun news (or something like that) magazine by Massad Ayub about P90 Rugers. He was of a very high opinion about these guns. He also mentioned that they had some problems in the beginning, but now everything is fixed. After that I did some more research on the subject, even handled one KP94 in the store. The gun looked very solid, the double action trigger was exellent. The price was also very good. At that time I didn't have money to get one, and a year after when I had money I bought Sig226, but P89 or P90 or P94 still can be in my future. One thing is for sure. People who actually have Rugers or shot them like them. People who say it's a bad gun pick their information from the internet.

I considered a CZ75 prior to purchasing my KP89D...I wanted stainless and a decocker. My budget was $600.00. the Ruger was 530.00 with both features so the choice was obvious. I have shot CZ,s and have found them to be no more accurate than my Ruger. keep in mind the P89 is a gun designed for combat and law enforcement applications. It would not be a great choice for bullseye shooting or for long range accuracy. For that you need a revolver :D

whats the ruger P-345,I know its a .45ACP but how is it different from the P-90?

And another strong point for the CZ is you can get a.22 conversion kit,the Kadet, made by CZ[it replaces the slide and bang cheap practice with the same weight and trigger pull] for about or a little less then the cost of a good .22 .Not to mention it points like a Browning Hi power,.

The P345 has a polymer frame, as the P97 does, which is much slimmer than the P-90. It is also slightly more compact. I really like my P97, and would like to get a KP345

With the decocker model, do you have to hold it down manually or can you drop the hammer and then let go with the gun safe?? This is confusing. I handled a Beretta with this feature if it is the same.

The only Rugers I own are .22's but my buddy owns a P89. Reliable, built like a tank and as accurate as the shooter is. My buddy's P89 reminds me of an ugly girl who is good in bed and never says 'no'......

You just press the decocker lever and the hammer drops..should be the same on all guns...

I personally would have to disagree with the statement that the Rugers' accuracy is crap; I seem to shoot my $550 Ruger P90 better and more accurately than my $1100 Beretta 92, and this is right out of the box with no adjustments or modifications. There is a lot of bias running around out here, the best thing you can do is take it all with a grain of salt, for what it's worth, and try to get the chance to try out as many handguns as you possibly can before you decide on which one is the best for you.

NINE,that web site was right on the money. You're cushing my case for him to get a CZ75. the P 345 looks and sounds sweet and its a .45ACP. sorry I suffer from"Lesser caliber syndrome",someday I hope to be able to use a caliber that dosen't start with a 4.

I still find the decocker unnerving, when the hammer drops like that it should go bang.

I don;t have a Ruger P series pistol. Lots of guys at my club do though. I've fired it and found thatthe controls didn't feel as natural to me as, for example, Berretta or CZ guns. Actually I'd even call them awkward ergonomically.

Also, of the guys who have them, most seem to favor other guns and don't shoot 'em very often. Can't say why for certain...

Nine,

What a great explanation via photos and a movie clip! You sir, are a credit to us all with your ambition to do that for another shooter...for the purposes of education. 8) My hat's off to you.

Thank you and best wishes. - Jeff/1911. :)
