My understanding is that the buffer tube is not to cover the little hole that the buffer retaining pin and retaining pin spring fit in to ..... but then there is nothing to keep the pin compressed .... help still
Ya your right easy it would jam up and it would be hell a hard to even close the upper with those pieces all loose
You need to insert the spring & retainer, then thread the buffer tube in. Hold down the retainer with your thumb as you thread the buffer tube in place, making sure to cover the main body of the retainer keeping it in place, but allowing the little pin to poke up. That little bit of pin is all that is needed to hold the buffer in place.
