Build Your Safe-Queen into a Straight-Pull King

you can't deactivate yourself, but you CAN destroy it yourself, you have to report it "when it cease to be a firearm"..
True... you can "dispose" of it.

I feel like if you called the cfo office and said “I disposed of my ar15 so now I don’t have it anymore” they’re going to have some questions for you.
they might have questions, but it's YOUR possession and you CAN destroy it if you want,soo..they might not like it,but it's legal.
every deactivated one i have seen sell on here, sold for much more than when it was live.so why destroy it,

Ahhh ….. so say i convert my Noveske AR to this…… how do i tell Mirimichi i now have a non restricted……. And is my old reciever still prohibited/ blacklisted ? And just cut it up or something and mail it to them ?
Hi Wolf,

When you use parts to make a Renegade rifle there is zero obligation to tell Miramichi anything.
They originally (in 2020) tried to tell us we were not allowed to strip the AR rifles for parts; then they issued the "nullification" letters for our registration certificates. This nullification removed the legal obligation to re-register it as a stripped receiver.

Now all they hope for is that we all turn in at least the receiver for the promise of a few dollars. The vast majority that I know have no intention to do this. If at some point they actually come to our doors to collect these receivers, many that I know intend to deliberately damage or destroy it with a hammer or otherwise so that they cannot be re-purposed in any way whatsoever, because at that point we all know there will no longer be any question of compensation, and many fear them being stolen or somehow re-directed out of confiscation pipeline by criminals.

Is the Maverick compatible with the Magpul B.A.D lever? I want to have the bolt mounted on the left and as a consequence would like not getting my thumb slammed by it on the way home…

Unrelated, but

Is the Maverick compatible with the Magpul B.A.D lever? I want to have the bolt mounted on the left but not risk getting my finger slammed by the bolt. Also, is the rifle compatible with ambidextrous mag release upgrades?

This is a question for the people who want a pump version, presumably for quicker follow-up shots. Have you tried the Renegade or Maverick with the charging handle placed on the same side as your trigger finger? In this configuration, your support hand can stay fixed to the front of the rifle, driving the stock into you so can stay on target better with follow-up shots. You can fire accurate shots off pretty quickly this way, if that's the concern. Where you might lose a couple tenths of a second in the time it takes to get off a follow-up shot, you might gain in the time it takes to get back on target compared to a pump action where your support hand is constantly shifting the rifle slightly off target on a reload.
I see your point, especially the part about the pump action support hand shifting things. It may not be ideal. However, after so many years working a pump action, it is just easier to stick to what I know. Can't teach an old dog new tricks :).

I first shot mine like this but has since moved it too the non trigger finger side and prefer it. Mines is in 223 and i can fire it without taking my hand off the charging handle. I also own a couple Troy's and I think if I'm being honest with myself I prefer my Renegade over the Troy.

Yes the BAD lever fits and works on the Maverick rifle

Late to the game. I'm confused with what happens with the gas system. Like all AR's, mine are direct impingement. The propellant gas from a fired cartridge is partially diverted via the gas block, down the gas tube to act on the BCG to cycle the action...repeat.

Where does the gas go when I pull the giggle switch on my AR, with your receiver attached?

...and if I buy 1 or 20 of these receivers, are they serialized, and if so, who gets to know where these serialized receivers reside?

Hi Painkillers,

With the Renegade rifle built up from a "donor" AR15, the gas tube is removed completely and the gas block is reversed so that there is no gas ported from the barrel.

The gas block is incorporated into the A2 style front sight post, so reversing it isn't an option. I have purchased 2 (to start with), kits, and am assuming there is another option?

Oh, and when do you destroy the record of the purchase (inclusive of my address, RPAL, phone, POB, gunclub, etc.).

Absolutely!

For the A2 style front-sight/gas block you simply unpin the gas-tube flip it 180 and re-insert it so that the holes no longer align. It can then be pinned in place and cut flush with the face of the front sight post.

Alternately a custom pin of the appropriate diameter can be inserted into the gas tube hole and pinned in place.

Both are very simple jobs.
