Building AK-47 furnature for an 858.

AK47 - 4.3 kg
AKM - 3.1 kg
AKSU - 2.5kg

CZ858 - 2.91 kg

So, AKM and CZ858 are almost identical in weight. durable and reliable AKM magazine is heavier plus cleaning rod under the barrel and tools in the stock that what make a difference...

AK crude? ...the only crude I've seen are chinese and some USA made

To bad I don't have a prohib licence to buy your unwanted AK :D

Like in "unwanted gold".

LOL, every time I hear this.

I'm still dreaming about this furniture... how's it coming along ?

I wish I had the skill to make stocks as good as that.

I have a dewat AK with rough looking wood, I was thinking it would look better with VZ58 wood, has anyone made a VZ 58 stock to fit an AK ?

Lifes been busy. Got what seems like ten million jobs on the go at any given moment, alongside holding down my full time day job.

I have not gotten anything else completed on the stock set as I have been unable to find a reliable dealer for the stock furrules, which I need to be able to convert any of the rifles reliably.

I will hopefully pick it up, but for now, this project has taken a back burner on my long list of projects.

So why not design and build the stocks for rifles with the ferrules, and leave it up to the buyer to source them out? Most of us have them left over from our factory stocks, anyway...

Mainly due to the fact that I never could source one of the furrules to begin with. I had a wtb ad up for three monthes, and asked in this thread if anybody would part with theirs, but no dice.

I can't build stocks for a part I don't have, and on my student budget, I can't afford to buy a new non-restricted 858 just for that one part.
