LOL this thread is funny. I wonder if Canadians in Afghanistan wonder if they are getting shot at with a Chinese AK or a Russian AK. I don't think it matters.
The Norinco goes bang and its accurate. Hell you could take on an ERT team with one....for cheap. J/K
Hell, doesn't even matter if no one will sell to them, they'll just MAKE ak47's... look at Pakistan's little cottage industry. Fully functional AK's made in mud huts with hammers, punches, 70's lathes, and old tank armor.
Keep in mind that a Norinco variant cannot be taken to the U.S.A. - PERIOD. NEVER EVER - while virtually any other brand of lower may be included on a Form 6NIA.
(Do you care? I don't know, but it's relevant to me.)
If you guys haven't checked out the store right behind Epps, check it out if you're into older firearms. Very cool place and people. I actually missed it the first time around. I saw it going south and had to make a U-turn. I have to go back again.
I dunno... I never thought about taking any firearms into the US due to all the paperwork. Let's just say I do want to take a restricted into the US. I read I'll need to verify with club over in the US in order for CFO to issue ATT.
That said, I really don't plan to shoot at a club, more like in the Arizona desert with restricted. But I suppose, but I don't know, once I arrange ATT and venture in the US where there are virtually no gun laws in some states, I'm free to whatever I want to do?
I actually enjoy going in that store than I do Epps!
Dude, it's an M4 (all the ones from any maker I've handled felt like M4's)
I'm studying their catalog to see what I want next.
I haven't encountered anyone talking about this place so far. It is a great shop. Epps great for restricted... Non-restricted goes to them, IMO! There are lots of other nick nacks that I do want to pick up for my gun room/slash closet. LOL!
I was so excited about the M4 until I picked it up. :-( Wasn't what I expected. I think I hyped myself up too much and was semi let down. Hahaha...
And stupid me, I forgot to ask to see the Norinco M213.
They're supposed to be light. If you have an AR variant that weighs the same as an AK, or other all wood & steel, there is something very obviously wrong. Either it isn't a real AR or it's simply loaded with so much extra useless sh!t it's weight is doubled.I have never picked up an AR in my life either but today I checked them out. I first handled the Norinco than tried another one that looked identical but cost almost 2x as much. I don't recall the name (Bushmaster?) but I was amazed just how similar the two were besides the price of course. They were almost clones in every aspect. Try comparing the Norinco with a brand name AR and you will see just how much alike they are.
Probably what makes the AR's feel cheap is that they are so light. I had expected them to have some weight to them like most regular rifles but was surprised just how light they were.
