Building my reloading bench

I'm using that exact same one. I added a sheet of MDF to the top and cut a piece of the drawer out for the press handle works perfect. The peg board is handy for storing things. Mounting directly to the metal will cause a lot of flexing resulting in inconsistent seating depths.

Got pics??

I've used one similar for about 8 years. Works OK, could be a little more solid but if you anchored it to the wall it would be perfect. In my situation that isn't possible. I put levelling feet on it as my basement floor is rough and the way I mounted my press makes it impossible to open the drawers on one side without removing the press but it works. I'm referring to the bench in post #33. I thought the picture would show up but it doesn't lol.

I went to my local used building supply place and scored exactly what I was looking for, which was a used piece of counter top. I wanted that because I really preferred a non-porous work surface that was solid. I borrowed a plunge router from work and cut grooves for the t tracks and screwed them into place. I then got a buddy to fab me some steel legs for it. Total cost was around $225.

I designed and built mine myself. $80 for the lumber, bolts, nails and glue. It's not large, as you can see, but perfectly adequate for my set up, which is fairly basic. Single stage press, manual trimmer and beam scale. The legs are 4X4 and the bolts that secure the press screw down into the top of the front right leg, making things pretty solid.

I am really impressed with the "other" workbench beside your workbench LOL!

I just finished moving and had to leave behind my wonderful bench. Couldn't get it out of the basement without completely disassembling it, way too many screws for that.
Next winter project is a new bench that bolts together. Any tips on making it steady and minimizing wobble?

Don't waste your time reloading on that desk. You'll realize in about the first 30 sec of using your press that it won't last another 30 seconds.
