Hello,
Anyone have experience with Bul armoury 1911 guns ? Not much information around.
They seem to provide good value, but I'm interested in opinion about quality of internal parts, fitting and how do they compare against typical 1911 pack: STI, Colt, Springfield ...

Thanks!

I had a Bul IPSec limited .40 ...was a well built pistol..large double stack frame, great sights on mine, stainless bull barrel, grip works well, serrations work well, ran everything I put through it without issue...mags were a little hard to come bye..but I had six so no worries...funny...I tried to buy it back again after a little while...would have another..

Not much out there yet, couple of people in vancouver area have them. They are liking them so far and they are people who shoot competitively and with other quality firearms.

Mine was very well made and handled like a dream. They look like and share some characteristics with a traditional 1911 but are in fact quite different though.

Could you elaborate on the differences? Simply based on my own ignorance I thought it was just another 1911.

Depends on what kinda 1911 you are comparing to and which Bul you are refering to.

The bul single stack is more in line with say Sig 1911 sans 80 series. Their double stack is more like the old Para without all the hiccups.

So really, what you are refering to and what you want to compare really matters as Bul has 1911 ranging from 1000$ all the way to 4K ish racegun.

All 1911 requires fitting as there were no standard TDP, so that aspect is already irrelevant, ever worked on a ferrari? The fitting is #### on them cause every ferrari is fitted by a different person every hour. Same idea as most hand fit racegun 1911. Some will have really good fit, some are down right retard built and they are identical model. But in term of overall quality, they are well worth their money.

We put one out in the lineup at DVC. It has one of the best stock SA triggers I've used. Much better than my stock Trojan.
Did I hear right that there is about 25,000 rounds through it already? Or did I mix that up with a different gun?

It is quickly becoming a favorite recommendation by the counter staff. We've had it for ~ 3 weeks, probably ~300-500 rounds through it a day. It's probably up to 10k rounds ...

Could you share please, what exact model do you refer ?

It's the Bul Commander model. Here's a pic from the DVC instagram * edit, couldn't make the link work, so attaching pic directly

The bull barrel really helps settle down the recoil, even in a commander length 1911. Love the checkering on the front strap and mainspring housing. It comes stock with some really aggressive G10 scales, and the best stock S/A trigger I've felt on a stock 1911. Crisp break and ~3lbs. I'll bring in a scale and measure it.

One of our local IPSC shooters brought in the Trophy model, full sized government model with fibre optic front sight and magwell. He's loving it and may give it a run in Classic division.

Mine was a polymer frame, so there were no interchangeable grip panels if I recall correctly. The "grip safety" was also a fixed part of the frame. It also didn't have a barrel bushing and took double stack mags, which aren't characteristics of a "true" 1911 depending on who you ask. Still a sweet shooter though, just not traditional. It was the closest thing to the long prophesied 1911 Glock I've ever seen.

That's interesting. I didn't know such a thing existed. Did the rail ride along tabs like a glock, or was there a full metal insert/rail like a Grand Power?

Thank you for clarification , really nice gun.
You mentioned Trophy. Do you know, is it bull or bushing barrel ?
