BUL M5 VS. USP Expert

Oh the prices from 'Club de tir ville st.pierre'....well quebec as many will discover isn't a firearm savvy province nor do they make it easy for citizens to own firearms. Firearms routining sell for quite a bit more(new and used) than one often sees on say the exchange forums and such. The kicker isn't necessarily the price of the firearm. Surely, one can order a new firearm from a shop, but say maintenance supplies, cleaning products, gun smithing....

Thanks for all the info. I'l have to find myself a USP Expert and a doublestack 1911 to be able to tell wich one fits my hand better, it's the only way I'l be able to make a real decision about it.

re Quebec

There is no problem getting guns in Quebec, and in Quebec we have some excellant gunsmiths. People just arn't ready to pay for the price.

Sometimes people are talked to buying expensive guns with no need. However they are made to belive that these guns will make them better shooters. Bull!!!!!. We all know that the Quebec Standard IPSC Champ uses a plain Para out of the box pistol, with only a mag well added as extra.

Looking for a great gun and not expensive look at the Springfield long slide you will be surprised what that gun can do with a simple little work on the trigger. the price is also good.

LOL, musta been UncleWalther... :D

Nope, that one was not me :D It was Foxbat.... and it was absolutely mint! Best price I have ever seen on an Expert. I bought one from P&D Enterprises, in excellent condition, for $1250 plus tax a couple of years ago. The Experts have poor resale value for some reason. I think it is because other HK pistols, with similar features (Custom Sport or Tac) can be had with most of the same features for less money.

Best value in the USP series is the Custom Sport.

Ok, I've got an idea.

I get a ported BUL M5 in 40 S&W (V-jet, wich are in stock at Marstar) and use the price difference to tune it up. Reduced muzzle flip will make it fun to shoot. And I can eventually participate in Standard if I change the barrel for a non-ported one.

What do you guys think about that?

I'm not shooting IPSC yet, that's why I said "maybe eventually for IPSC". That's probably going to go for in a year or two.

Why does everyone seems to go for .40 S&W anyway, other than it's cheaper? I'm switching to 45 ACP because I hate the "snappyness" of my 9X19 and to what I understand, 40 S&W is also very snappy.

Download the the 40 to minor calibre and it is a very smooth round.....

Thanks for all the tips guys. I finally found my pistol. It's a tricked out second hand .40 ParaOrd. P16-40, excellent condition, cheap price.

Can't wait to have it. :D
