The RCBS Collet puller is good as well but I have heard the hornady is much faster to use.

I use the RCBS collet style works way better than the hammer.

Make sure you use a kinetic puller by hammering against something really solid, otherwise it takes more strikes. A smooth steel plate works well. A piece of soft wood won't deliver the same G force. Hard wood might be fine.

I picked up a Lee collet puller from Brownells for pretty cheap. Collet puller, definately the way to go.

Tough to beat Hornady's cam lock system, particularly when you have a large number of bullets to pull. Mexican handloads come to mind.

For those who don't speak "Mexican", a Mexican handload is pulling the existing bullet from commercial ammunition and replacing it with a better bullet. For years we did this with Lake City Match replacing the existing bullet with Sierra Matchkings.

I came up with a system that works well when I wanted to pull the bullets on a large number of military cartridges that I intended to use for Mexican Match and the RCBS collet puller wouldn't pull them. A pair of wire strippers/crimpers that has the serrated wire strippers on the inside of the handles bits into the bullet leaving a couple of small punctures in the jacket that will never be noticed, and the loading press easily retracts the casing from the bullet. Run the cartridge up on the ram with no die in your press, grip the bullet between the handles, and lower the ram. Its fast, easy, inexpensive, and its not caliber specific provided your loaded cartridge will bring the bullet above the frame of the press; some short auto pistol cartridges won't.

I really like the RCBS collet puller. There are only two short-comings I have found; every time you start loading a new caliber you have to get another collet and the collets do lose their "bite" after a lot of use.

The RCBS Collet puller is good as well but I have heard the hornady is much faster to use.

I've used both and the Hornady is a better pc of kit. I heartily recommend it!

I used the forster collet puller. The only drawback is getting enough collets to fit all of my calibers.

+1 on the RCBS collet puller, I use both the kinetic and collet pullers, if you bang it on the concrete floor will she still get mad? and wow you must pull alot of bullets to annoy someone??
