What are you using for a camera? You can get really clear pictures with a FPS rate of roughly 5000 to 6000. I have had success in this rate of speed. It removes some of the bullet blur. Awesome photos!

Very nice. Please post the details of you equip and setup if you don't mind.

Sound activated in a dark indoor range.

Canon 7d on bulb
580EX flash 1/128 on manual in a remote hot shoe UPT_HS1 connected to Universal Timer UPT_KIT1B with an external mic. Timer is set for 2 ms delay. Timer opens the shutter and sound activates the flash. I'm working on cleaning up the picture.

It WORKED! ! ! !

THose are pretty fabulous!

You should crop down to just the last inch or so of the slide and muzzle along with the fireball and bullet and make it your new avatar... :D

...with a modification of the well-known sig line: "I can make it to the door in 1/650 of a sec..."

50 years ago I took pictures like this in the CIL ammo R&D lab.

Used a Poloroid camera with ASA 1000 B&W film, on bulb in a dark range. Sound triggered a very high speed flash. We were interested in how wad columns came out of the shotgun.

Your pictures look more dramatic.

I guess ol' Ecclesiastes was right after all- "There is nothing new under the sun." (Come to think of it, wasn't he from the Land of the Ganderites? Or was that the Jebusites...)

thats about the least blur you are going to get without building an air gap flash, a strobe maxes out (or minimums out i should say) at 1/40 000 (ish)
