Hello,

Fine maybe it wasnt for the SKS but it still happened check the NEWS archives. it happened!

Here is a better idea..

You appear to be relatively new to the CGN world yet you claim to have the REAL scoop on a story that the rest of us....some of whom have programs that monitor the internet to pick up on gun related stories have never heard about.

Now...........

How about YOU check the news archives find a link and post it here.

My guess is your story will link to one about Danish M1s....but that is just my wild guess.

oh and M1s were never FA either!

Do not believe everything you read on the net!! Well...........believe what I say!!

LOL!

I have actually heard this one, and it's not all that far fetched - if you order parts for a Type 56 carbine, the Chinese will ship SKS parts, but if you order parts for a Type 56 rifle you get AK parts. It's probably the dumbest piece of military nomenclature in history. (That's also the reason that you see Type 56 listed as an AK variant in the OIC's)

Stirring up Sh*t

I asked the forbidden question and took a bite out of the apple. So if I understand the Kel-tec .308, Steyr Aug, FS 2000, PS90, Israeli Tavor, and Chinese type 97 maybe owned here now or in the new future:runaway: :dancingbanana:
Just to clarify something, there are supposedly only 2 parts exchangeable between the type 56 sks, and the type 56 ak. I own a sks-d model, the magazine release is the same only on the D's, and rear sight is the same leaving problably one piece intechangeable between the 2 conventional models.
I want to thank everyone for the input, and B*tchen!

I ordered some SKS parts and got laser rifles instead... true story.

Mine were parts for a 40 watt pulse rifle. I put them into my 10/22 and they worked like a damn. Cut a barn in half. I had to give them up to a MIB though so I could work undercover in Iraq as a PMC truck driver. I'm with Blackwatre now. For serious.

If someone says again that these don't exist, Lord Vader is going to have to choke a b!tch...:D

Meet the Type 68
type68.jpg

Type 68 assault rifle with 15 rounds magazine

Caliber: 7.62x39 mm
Action: Gas operated, rotating bolt
Overall length: 1029 mm
Barrel length: 521 mm
Weigth: 3.49 kg
rate of fire: 750 rounds per minute
Magazine capacity: 15 or 30 rounds detachable box magazines

The Type 68 rifle, as its name implies, was adopted by PLA in 1968. It is interesting development because it represents a mix of features taken from other designs, mostly from AK-47 Kalashnikov (known in China as Type 56 assault rifle) and from SKS Simonov karbine (known in China as Type 56 carbine).

The Type 68 is a gas operated, selective fire veapon. It shares the stock design and receiver outline with SKS, but instead of tilting bolt uses AK-47-type rotating bolt action. The gas system is somewhat original and not similar to SKS nor to AK-47, and has dual positions gas regulator. This rifle is fed from detachable box magazines, that are similar to Ak-47 magazines. According to some sources, AK-47 magazines can be used in Type 68 rifle, but it should be slightly modified (a bolt holdopen device must be removed). Type 68 features non-detachable, folding spike bayonet.

(underlines mine)

Also Kokalis of soldier of fortune publications in his book 'weapons testing and evaluations', did a review of said rifle, and said in full auto it was almost uncontrollable, due in part to not having a pistol grip.

I know the Tavor will. As for US made guns, that is another matter due to the tightening of US export rules. Only time will tell.

The Steyr Aug is prohibited by name, otherwise the answer would be yes. However, there is an American company that is producing a comparably very similar firearm in looks and function to the Steyr Aug, that they claim that it's not a variant. Time will tell if anything precipitates from that.
