Hmmm, wouldn't an iPhone with an app to auto answer FaceTime work equally as well with no additional equipment required?
Yeah. I mentioned a while back in a spotting scope thread that I'd seen a father son pair do this at the range. Two iPhones running Skype and they just set it up and let it run the whole time (45 min ish). They said skype used less data I guess? Had it set up on one of those little folding tripods maybe 5 feet back from the target. Worked pretty slick actually. And as you said, no additional equipment that wouldn't otherwise already be in your pocket, except the little dollar store tripod. They must have had a good data plan though.
Another fella started a thread a while back about planning to take his new Phantom Drone to the range to use in this capacity, and take selfies of him and his buds shooting. He should have wore his flame suit before starting that thread.
