I wanted to do a quick review of the Burris fullfield e1 3-9x40, wich is I think an incredible hunting scope for the price.
I paid mine on sale 250$ and could not be more satisfied.

First of all, the glass is really, really clear. I've compared it at the range with a Zeiss conquest, wich is twice the price, and it is in no way twice clearer.
The single piece tube is also a very good thing, it is very solid, and backed by the Burris forever warranty no questions asked anyway.
Adjusment of the turrets work just fine(they are 1/4 moa per click like most hunting scopes) I make 4 clicks left at a 100 yards, it moves one inch left. Same for all directions by the way. Negative point, you can't reset your turrets when you have zeroed the scope, so you have to keep track of any adjusments you make on the field.
The floating reticule with the adjusments for distance and windage is also pretty useful. First you have a really good field of view because the reticle only takes the minimum space in the lense. With a zero at 100 yards, you can shoot up to 500 yards with no adjusments. There is even a few tables for different calibers and bullet weights that come with the scope. So you know werther you have to aim 2 inches higher at 200 yards to be dead on or whatever. You will have to do your testing anyway, but they are a pretty good starting point. When you have made some testing, you can even go further than the 500 mark using the top of the bottom post. I have made a shot at 663 meters with my savage .308 win on a 10 inch plate with ni adjusments in the scope, it took 4 shots. Burris also came with the illumimated reticle for this exact model. I've seen it at Sail for 399$.

So if you are looking for a great scope that will satisfy all your hunting needs, don't hesitate. Fullfield e1 3-9x40 is the obvious choice for the money (approx 300$).

I hope this was helpful!

I got mine for $199.99 and a friend bought two. They are great , sharp and clear. We compared it to a Redfield Revolution 3-9x 40 and the Burris is the clear winner.

Have a look !

Sorry to bump this old thread, just picked one up for my .308 and am thrilled with your reviews, I looked at the bushnell amd the redfield both of which didn't compare. Look forward to shooting with it

Damn (those prices from many months ago), I looked at the Fullfield's glass and was impressed at the colour and clarity. Very good glass for this price point.

If I could find one at $199 I'd jump on it like a fat kid on candy. These trend at $350-400 now with our dollar in the toilet.

One caveat, I had an E1 that the reticle canted on. Took 6 months to resolve warranty. Had to pay shipping one way also, not super impressed with warranty.

I guess you'll be mad that I only paid 149.00 for it brand new!

I got lucky and bought one used for under $200.00 several years ago. It's been on a Ruger M77 338 WM and had it in Africa. Never let me down and my best shot was 310 meters on a springbok. Now on a Browning X-Bolt Hunter 30-06 and makes a fantastic combination.

I got a ff few years back for 129, but thats before liberals are in to help tank our dollar.

Just curious how you figure they had anything to do with the foreign exchange rate when we're primarily a commodity-based economy. (I don't vote Liberal, but that seems a pretty crazy statement to make given that the USD/CAD exchange rate is almost exactly the same now as when the Liberals took power.)

$159 in Vancouver early Dec. at "not a site sponsors" store. Like a dumb ass I questioned myself and didn't pull the trigger. Yes it was an E1. I love the relatively uncluttered view, and the BDC works great. I think their glass is better than Nikon (I own 4 Nikons, only 1 FF E1) My buddy was impressed and got a new Stainless Tikka T3 hunter (wooden stock) with a FF E1 and Burris rings for $1017. That's a pretty smokin' deal if you ask me. He was going to swap it out and install his Leupold VX-2, but liked the clarity so much he stayed with the FF E1. Even the Droptines I've seen are very clear.
