I wanted to do a quick review of the Burris fullfield e1 3-9x40, wich is I think an incredible hunting scope for the price.
I paid mine on sale 250$ and could not be more satisfied.
First of all, the glass is really, really clear. I've compared it at the range with a Zeiss conquest, wich is twice the price, and it is in no way twice clearer.
The single piece tube is also a very good thing, it is very solid, and backed by the Burris forever warranty no questions asked anyway.
Adjusment of the turrets work just fine(they are 1/4 moa per click like most hunting scopes) I make 4 clicks left at a 100 yards, it moves one inch left. Same for all directions by the way. Negative point, you can't reset your turrets when you have zeroed the scope, so you have to keep track of any adjusments you make on the field.
The floating reticule with the adjusments for distance and windage is also pretty useful. First you have a really good field of view because the reticle only takes the minimum space in the lense. With a zero at 100 yards, you can shoot up to 500 yards with no adjusments. There is even a few tables for different calibers and bullet weights that come with the scope. So you know werther you have to aim 2 inches higher at 200 yards to be dead on or whatever. You will have to do your testing anyway, but they are a pretty good starting point. When you have made some testing, you can even go further than the 500 mark using the top of the bottom post. I have made a shot at 663 meters with my savage .308 win on a 10 inch plate with ni adjusments in the scope, it took 4 shots. Burris also came with the illumimated reticle for this exact model. I've seen it at Sail for 399$.
So if you are looking for a great scope that will satisfy all your hunting needs, don't hesitate. Fullfield e1 3-9x40 is the obvious choice for the money (approx 300$).
I hope this was helpful!
