Bushnell Banner 6-24x40 = JUNK!!!!

Tried 4 sets of rings even windage rings .... Maxed out the elevation at 100yrds still was over the papper by 5 inches you only get 4.5'' right to left each way and less for elevation

It`s not me its the scope.... Say you turn the dial on any scope You should be able to max out the dial and the hairs should move... This type you only get 1/4 of dial use the rest of the dial does nothing to move the hairs it just clicks with zero movement

Called bushnell today and was told if you dont like it buy something else...Never will a bushnell touch one of my rifles again

I'm not clear what your problem is. Are you describing the movement of the reticle against a boresighter or do you in fact want the reticle to move visibly in the scope (off center). Did you buy this scope from us because I sure would like to know about this problem if it exist on this model we have in stock? This is why we like to mount the scopes ourselves so we can determine where the problem is. Do you realize that when you use max adjustment on the elevation or windage you are also limiting the travel on the other adjustment as the erector assembly is in a round tube therefore full adjustment is compromised in the other direction as well. Last, what gun are you mounting this scope on? For info the Sportsman and Sporstview line have now been discontinued from Bushnell's line. They are marketing less expensive models than the Banner in the Tasco and Simmons lines they now own. Phil.

4.5" movement of the reticle against a boresighter.

Mounted on a rem 700 sps varment. Got it to zero on the bore sight took it out to the range and @ 103 yards it did not have enough down to get it on papper changed rings out to a lower set where the scope was touching the barrel got it to papper but the windage ran out. 3/4 of the scope turret use does nothing to move the hairs...

No I never got @ P&D stuff I buy there works :) . Mount one up to any rifle and try it on a boresight and you will know exactily what I mean

Banner is there low series, you get what you pay for. Good for a 22LR where your distances are not as great.

There Trophy series are a good investment for lower grade optics. If you want a decent optic, go with their elite series they offer an elite in low (3###) mid grade (4###) and higher end (6###)

I just dont understand why the scope turrets would have so much empty space.. At long range you need a lot of adjustment to compensate wind and drop that you will not get with this scope even tho it is a large power optic

Dont waste your time or money on this scope.. Half the elevation and half the windage on the dial do not work tried 3 different ones new in box and all are the same

Total scam and waste of cash

The Banner line is Bushnells cheap line, does the poor performance really surprise you? Aside from a rimfire, I wouldn't mount a Bushnell product on any rifle. Any scope that runs you less than $300 is likely cheap crap.

I have the exact scope (new) with the same problem. It looks the part and I put it on my 17 HMR. I zeroed it at 50 and needed to bring it over a couple of inches at 100 and ran out of adjustment. Very disappointed as I figure for a rimfire it would be ok. Ended up going back to 50 yards and zeroing it for 50 yds. Looks good on the gun but that is it.

Why would you put such a cheap scope on a rem 700?

Regardless it sounds like a mounting issue and not scope. Try removing your mount rail and re-installing it. I hope the rail you bought was of higher quality than the optic becuase a cheap rail will only compound the problem of cheap optics.

Lower rings won't really do anything, you have to chance the angle of the scope.

Sounds like you actually have to raise the front of the scope or lower the back.

Is the mount correct??

But it is gone now, so why am I still typing??

Its not the mount or rings.... I thought i could get away with it until I can something nice to put on it .... Its gone now plus my pos tasco I put on was on the money it just had no zoom so I know its the scope not the rings or base

Banners are lower end scopes, and within that line, it seems the 6-24's are the lowest quality in my experience. Having said that, I've got a couple of Banner 3-9x40's and one 6-18x50 (all the newer kind, not the older $200 dollar ones) and I have not had any problems with them at all. Mounted on .50 cal in-line, 303 Brit, and 6.5x55. Personally, I think they are worth buying for rifles that don't see heavy use, or require top end glass.

Bought a case of Banners one time, all 3-9x scopes. Got them for very cheap by buying in bulk, had about a 50% failure rate, except for one truly odd exception. Stuck one on an 8 Rem Mag I have just because I wanted to use the gun, and the damned thing is still working. Amazing. Must have been a Wednesday scope. - dan
