I thought you were out and wouldn't argue yet I see your back. Give it up man.Hard to take you serious when you say one thing and do another.

4.5" movement of the reticle against a boresighter.

Mounted on a rem 700 sps varment. Got it to zero on the bore sight took it out to the range and @ 103 yards it did not have enough down to get it on papper changed rings out to a lower set where the scope was touching the barrel got it to papper but the windage ran out. 3/4 of the scope turret use does nothing to move the hairs...

I Apologize if I'm missing the point. Are you saying there was way too little vertical and horizontal adjustment on your scope, i.e. less than specified. Or that when mounted you required more than was available to set the cross hairs up with point of impact?

I have used Burris zee rings and inserts to solve the later case in the past.

I have to chirp in here.

There is no way a vortex is better than a Bushy 4200, or even 3200. Those scopes are amazing quality for the price. The Vortex is overpriced for what you get. Poor eye relief and scope became very fuzzy after 10x. Bad scope, maybe...
Every 4200 and 3200 I run is flawless, reliable, clear and I just love them.

It's a el cheapo scope what do you expect? Even the amazingly clear optics on a 5-25x56 Schmidt and Bender I've had the joy to use on a few occasions are strained at 25 power. What do you expect from something that costs 30 times less?

x2!

You wish, Bushnell is garbage. My Vortex Viper is better in every aspect than the Bushnell 4200. Sorry just because your girl friend says it doesn't make it right.
A fool and his money are soon parted and it looks like we have a bunch on here. Bushnell sucks ass and I wouldn't waste $10 on one. You keep telling yourself Bushnell is better maybe you'll believe it if you say it enough.

Very true, but the issue here is both the brand and the price. Bushnell sells mostly crap and even their decent stuff is over priced. I agree with the post above that Vortex is also over priced for what you get. The reality is, if you want quality you're going to pay for it.

For anything other than a plinker or gopher gun, its top brands only. Leupold is the lowest I will go when it comes to serious optics. Otherwise its S&B, Zeiss, Swarovski, US Optics, or Nightforce. They all cost a pretty penny but I have yet to meet anyone who had anything bad to say about them or have issues.

yea, but you got a lieca out back somewhere , don't you?

Buy a redfield if you don't wanna spend too much, basic 3x9 40mm should only be around 200 depending on the outfit you're getting it from. Then at least you have the leupold warranty which is by far superior to bushnell.
