While I may not have this exact scope, the Bushnell 2.5-10x40 would be a good all around hunting scope, it has duplex reticle, and relatively lightweight 19.7 oz for a 30mm tube scope. It also has awesome eye relief of 4.3inches and a forgiving eyebox. Im like how the posts of the Duplex crosshair are thick for low light prey targetting but the inner crosshair is thin for precision target practice at the range. I own the 1-4x model and I'm happy with it other than I wish I bought the 2.5x10 instead so I can shoot more precisely at the range, which is where I do most my shooting.
My friend has an Engage 3-9x40 illuminated 1" tube scope on his .30-06 Browning BAR hunting rifle which I've used several times. It's glass is clear and bright, no complaints there, but it has less eye relief 3.4 inches and a less forgiving eyebox. On 9x it's very finicky to get behind. It has illumination, when my friend remembers to shut it off after using it, which is never. Illumination is not daylight bright which I find is a feature for lowlight hunting in my opinion.
Engage is solid but somehow seems more budget than the Elite 4500. Even the anodizing of the aluminum on the Elite is slicker feeling and a deeper black.
You should be able to find the Elite 4500 2.5-10X40 for arond $350 or so. Sometimes less on sale or on the EE.
