Hello folks...
Couple questions on the TRS-25
(1) I have seen positive reviews on multiple websites, anyone here on CGN with direct experience with this red dot, have anything bad to say about it?
(2) For a .22 plinker - primarily target, along with a few pesky coons, porcupines squirrels, would you recommend a riser or mount it directly on the rail?

Thanks

Nothing bad to say about it on my end. Only negative is the dot intensity isn't as bright as an Aimpoint or Holosun. Other than that it's a good RDS for the money.

.22 plinker? What make model is it?

Nonsense! If you actually look on a trs-25 you'll notice it's very special, you'll see the numbers go to eleven. What's that you say, "most red dots go to ten, is that any brighter?" Well, it's one brighter, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be plinking at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your red dot. Where can you go from there? Where? Nowhere. Exactly. What I do is, if I need that extra push over the cliff, you know what I do? Put it up to eleven, one brighter. Just buy one already, they go to eleven.

I like mine. I've found on a tradition stock no riser is needed but one is for an "AR" flattop style rifle.

Thanks folks! Appreciate the comments.
(I don't trust retail web reviews... figure someone being paid to say nice things)

On a regular stocked 10/22 you won't need a riser.

Perfect thanks. It's a 10/22 takedown, with the flip sight, factory stock.
On my scoped guns, I prefer the scope as close to the barrel as possible for obvious reasons. Figure same would be for a RDS

Good low cost solution to lower recoil situations, is the consensus on these. I also have a Bushnell reflex sight that has performed well on my Thureon Defense carbine.

I wonder how long it'll last on this SA15?

If it dies I'll post the round count.

I have 2 TRS25s. In all they're very good red dots for the value. The two I have were slightly different though.
The first TRS25 I bought had the emitter at 6oclock position. This one had a strange occurrence. The dot would disappear from the top 1/4 of the view angle. The other 3/4 of the view was good.
The second TRS25 I bought didn't have the problem mentioned above, but the dot was noticeably brighter than the first one I had at the same brightness setting. Also, the emitter is located at the 4:30 position of the tube.
Both of my sights are identical externally. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the market for a good value red dot sight.

I have one mounted on my daughter`s Ruger American Rimfire Compact and it works great for her. She has trouble with iron sights, and scopes, but this little bugger fits the bill perfectly.

They seem durable enough for a cheap optic. I did find that mine washed out in bright light that the dot was almost gone, so much so that I thought the battery died. Changed the battery and had the same result. Ended up selling it.
Mine was on a .223 AR.
