I've put about 100 rounds through my Norc, did some of the simple M14.ca mods (scope mount and recoil spring guide) and this rifle is good to go. Trigger pull is a little over 6lbs and I can group three shots into 2-4 inches at 100 yards. That is shooting from the knee, so I am really happy! PROBLEMS: The trigger is too heavy and so is the damn rifle! My Norc weighs in at around 11 pounds! So I'm going to have my gunsmith cut two inches off the barrell (that should take a bit of weight off, I don't need the front sight) and thread the barrel for a brake or suppressor. I also want to reduce the trigger pull, 4-5 pounds would be great. I'm also considering a Leupold ultralight 2.5x20 scope or a bushnell TRS-25 (my current scope and rings weigh just on a pound) to try and shave some more weight off. Anyone running a TRS-25? Whaddya think?

Fenix NZ has a little comic for you to study that will cover some of these issues. As for the TRS it is a great RDS for the money. Its no aimpoint but its not junk either. I love them and haven't bought any other RDS since. I honestly believe your irons will produce better groups especially past 100 yds but for plinking and tac matches you'll be hard pressed to beat the TRS for what it costs. Leupold makes excellent scopes, my only low power Leupy was a VX-R Patrol 1.25-4X20 and I just loved it! Almost as good as an RDS on low power with excellent glass on 4X for longer shots. The eyebox is huge and eye relief very forgiving. Nice big, bright FOV etc etc. Typical Leupold. Love it. Post pics with the suppressor so we can make hate speeches and shake our fists. We can't have pew pew mufflers.

I've got a TRS25, great little optic. Have one, want to get another. One little nit-pic, the emitter or something obstructs just a tiny bit of the sight picture. Not sure why they designed it like that, but other than that little thing, everything else is great.

Using one with the M14.CA RD mount and am very impressed with the setup. You may find that you need a cheek riser with this setup though as it gets pretty high. Other than that it works very well with my old eyes.

That settles it lads; I'm getting one. They are finally available over here in NZ and the price is pretty cheap. I will still have my scope/rings as back up, but I think I'm going to like the TRS.
