Bushnell warranty

How about doing both. ? It means that serial # won't have warranty anymore. The best warranty is the one not needed.

A 4200 is a big heavy scope at 16 oz, Likely why it's rep is so tough. The replacement 4500 weighs in at 19.7 oz.

There was a time that nearly every scope I owned was Bushnell or B&L. Good luck for awhile; so I ended up with a pile. When I broke the first one iI thought it was a fluke, but soon after that I was wearing a path to the post office and sending them in two at a time. It usually took 3 months. Sometimes I’d get a brand new one, which make them easy to sell. I was expecting it to take years to replace the whole fleet but it went faster than I thought due to bulk orders and motivated dealers.

I’ve heard they give away free bushnells in Hell. Can’t prove it but seems legit, they can all go there.😂
It can cost a lot of money to first suspect then prove that a scope went south. You pretty much have to swap scopes and test with that one, paying for the test ammo, and the re-zeroing ammo perhaps on two rifles, then you get to do it all over again after the repairs. Thats on set it and forget it scopes, it worse if your issue is tracking or returning to zero.

A good work around on tracking issues is to use a very accurate 22 LR. I’ve got an Anschutz that was built for rimfire benchrest, but old quality target 22s are surprisely cheap. Not many people want them I guess. You can test your new scopes that way too; if they don’t track and return to zero the first time everytime on a 22 at 50 yards it isn’t going to get better on a 338 Lapua. The difference is one way costs a few bucks and very little time. You don’t even have to wait for it to cool off.

Warranty center moved front Ontario to Somewhere USA, they seen reluctant to take Canadian warranty work.
Maybe border crossing paperwork is a show stopper.

Leupold is the only brand Canadians should be considering now
That new to me! Unfortunate too. Ive always liked Bushnell product and really enjoy their high end offerings like the Elite Tactical SMRS series 1-8.

Been buying new Bushnell scopes since my first in 1974. Have maybe 12 or so mounted or in the drawer still of all models. Been getting the run around no reply for repair on a Prime so no more Bushnell for me. This Prime is the first one I've already had warrantied once and same issue. I've bought half a dozen Vortex from the Crossfire 2 to Viper and I like the pricepoint.Vortex replaced one scope I dropped on the objective bell with a new scope no questions asked. Bushnell was quick and couteous for years, usually got a new scope, but now they are done for me. The brand will be dead in Canada in about two years, they'll be the new Simmons line.
I have several Leupolds starting about 7 years ago,so it looks like theres where I'll be putting my money from now on, will save awhile longer, and not be so impulsive by "paying for less and hoping for more" with fingers crossed........,

Damn, I hope this is all isolated. All my rifles have bushnell, now I don't pretend to be anything other than a hunter and enjoy target shooting. I just received my 5x30 matchpro for my ruger m77 heavy barrel. I've never had a warranty issue with bushnell, but I've only had to deal with them for trail cams. Every time, a newer better model was sent to replace the old one. It's unfortunate if what I'm reading is the case

I’ve never had to use the Bushnell warranty until yesterday. All my elite tactical, match, etc scope have been trouble free. Had my Bushnell spotting scope out yesterday and the focus knob broke free of the tube.

I was a little concerned after reading about the recent issues with Bushnell service. I emailed them yesterday and they are already sending out a replacement via Fedex. Less than 24 hours. I’m impressed.

Returned a bushnell 3-9x last year. Was useless, one of the cheap scopes that came on Savage Axis. They sent a new 3-9x by 50 banner2. Definitely an upgrade.

I feel that statement is asinine, given Elcan and Tangent Theta are all MADE IN CANADA

Not all Vortex products come from the same factory. I have had really good luck with their 'made in Japan' scopes. Still own a couple. Never given Made in China or Made in Philippines a chance, so I can't comment on those...

Had a number of Leupold optics, but moved away from them when I began to value zero retention and repeatable tracking.
All but one Vortex model are offshore Asia. So they have garbage...and then the recyclables. Not one of their scopes is worth the $$ they go for. I wouldn't put one on a 12 yr olds 22.

The quest for Warranty started in November, it now Feburaary , soon to be March. After a couple of phone calls, it seems Bushnell still hasn't got their act together with Customs . I resorted to having it delivered State side.

It takes a while, I put in a warranty claim on my Elite 6500. They were going to sent a 4500 as the 6500 line is discontinued. A few months later a Bushnell R5 series shows up which is worth half of what a 6500 is.

Any tips or tricks to get through on the phone line? I work from home once a week and I have tried over 120 tries to get through. I do it for fun throughout the day. The CFO and Bell Canada have better response time on phone. I keep hoping. But now with Trumpf and cross border tarrifs I worry I send a scope down and I need to mortage my house to get the scope back.

I feel discrespected by Bushnell specially after boycotting MEC for years for the whole Vista outdoors anti gun thing. I still mock MEC for their decison. I will walk in, but not spend my $$$.... side line. Opps.

Wish bushnell would read CGN posts to see whats up.... I think they are clueless.... My support is elsewhere now.

Well this thread is a bit of an eye-opener. Back in the 90's Bushnell was certainly positioned as a less than stellar brand -- although the Elite 4000 series did seem to have a strong following and was often considered a contender to Leopold as far as hunting scopes go (at the time, with arguably better glass but definitely heavier). But most of the line-up just seemed cheap. And I'll never forget watching my hunting buddy sight in a brand new Elite 3200 3-9x on his .30//06 ... only to have the objective lens literally fall out of the scope on this second shot.

Years later when their higher end scopes (3-21x DMR, etc.) were around the $2,000 mark, I had a hard time forgetting those earlier days. Had they really gotten that much better that they could be near the same price point as a Nightforce NXS? I never had occasion to find out, having moved on to other scope brands that consistently met or exceeded my expectations. But alas, based on what's getting posted here, I guess they never did quite live up to their aspirations. It's a shame, because I still have a few Elite 4000 or 4200's that perform exceptionally well. The exceptions that prove the rule I guess.

I used the Bushnell warranty yesterday. It was easier than shipping the scope off to Ontario. The 2.5x10 4200 was bad from the get go. At least it was just tracking and not point of impact. I had a Leupold that was bad from the get go years back. That Leupold was point of impact , a much worse problem, and after a fair number of load development trials , much more expensive. This was a VariX-III, 2.5x8 their top of the line scope at the time. I run both brands .

I got up a bit earlier to catch them at the start of their day They are in Utah which is in the mountain time zone.. I'm in Pacific time zone. I phoned and got all agents are busy, and waited 15 minutes while I drank my morning coffee. I then used the option to get a call back. A button phone is handy here. Half an hour later Ashley called, nice girl, We talked and I explained the problem. The rifle is accurate, Bill Leeper chambered it. and the load was brilliant, two touching and I pulled the third, it was 1/2" off. This is on a deer hunting rifle. Doing load development, all you need is being on the paper. When I went to sight in, 3" over and 4" up, it went to the other corner of the paper. No sense wasting expensive bullets and scarce primers or time at that stage. She asked the model # and the serial #, then my address and said they would be shipping a new one to me, A 2.5x10 4500. To Canada it could be 4 to 6 weeks., about the same time repair in Ontario use to take. I often joked shipping scopes to Alberta had three week turnaround while to Ontario it was three months. Chuckle.

The only unsettling thing is they are not repairing what had been an $400 to $500 dollar scope instead, just replacing it

Their hours are 8 to 3 , Monday to Thursday and 8 to 1 Friday. 1-800-423-3537

Well, here's my latest Bushnell story !
Had a couple of Trophy X-Treme scopes sittin in a drawer, two are non tracking, one has parallax fuzzy, so I decided to call them. This warranty claim started just before Valentines Day....Feb 9 or 10 thereabouts.

Spoke to a real nice girl..Tanaya. Chatted for a few minutes, and she mentioned that there are NO MORE 6-24X50 replacement scopes ! DANG... I also had 2 of the 4-16X44 XT's...one is my son's. All were covered under their lifetime warranty.
She said she would send me a label to ship them back, once I sent them, they would send me my replacements ! I queried why, when I know that others didn't have to do it ? She said sometimes they do it. I asked if they would be repaired, she said no ! Said to allow 3-4 weeks for delivery AFTER they got the old ones back.
Couple days later I get another EM telling me they can't originate a return label cuz I'm in Canada, so not to worry about returning them ! WOW !! My order would be processed soon.
Told her I needed 30 mm tubes, cuz that's how the rifles are all set up now and Multi X reticles for hunting !

We emailed back and forth...they were offering much cheaper version scopes with 1 inch tubes, told her NO WAY. I needed 30mm tubes ! So we settled on three...4500 X's scopes all in 4-16X44 with the multi X reticle.

From start to finish I sent and replied to no less than "28" E-mails..and 6 phone calls. I asked for a tracking number, she said she couldn't give me one till it went thru the system. Two weeks later, I asked for it again..then she said it was stuck at customs and could take months !!! Back and forth we went.
Yesterday, I had a Dr appointment @ 130...while waiting, she emailed me a Fed Ex tracking number...FINALLY I thought...I checked it out...it was JUST delivered (photo beside my front door) ha ha ha ha ha
Got home and opened my package...well sir...ANOTHER phone call's in store !!! The packing list said shipped 4/13/25 !!
They sent me three...ENGAGE...2.5 - 10 X 44 scopes...all with the deploy reticle !!!!! I am sooo pissed !
I called, got some guy named Aiden...he spent more time away from the phone than on it !! He said they admitted that somewhere between her order and the non-existant QC it got F'D up !!
These are NOT what was promised to me, they are LESS power by quite a bit, annnnd, they are NOT the right reticle for hunting rifles !
Manager said they never had the 4500 X's in stock so they sent the next best thing CLOSEST to what I had !!!!
Best they could do..end of story !!!! Was a Bushnell fan for a long time...till yesterday !

***I still have my Silver Elite 4200 sittin on my 300WSM Stainless Stalker...been there forever and still works flawlessly !
