I had a Bushnell 2-7X compact scope that was about 10 years old the reticle broke in it earlier this year.

I sent it into Bushnell for warranty in early Feb to get it repaired under warranty.

I just heard back from them at the end of last week, they told me that the scope would cost to much to be repaired, they then offered me a supposed deal on a 3200 series 1.5 - 4X scope their deal would have cost me more than retail.

Told them to shove it up ther *ss and that I will never buy another Bushnell optic product again...

Hmmmm, I just sent in my Bushnell 3 x 9 because the zoom won't turn past the 5x setting. It is 20 years old so I am probably SOL as well. They may have a number of tubes up their tube if this keeps up.

I have 2 Leupold Vari X 11 3-9X40mm scopes that are over 25 years old, I sent both into Korth for warranty consideration a couple years ago both scopes came back in perfect shape after having completely gone thru.

All I had to pay for was shipping, one is now on my older 270 Weatherby and I just put the other on my new Rem 700 LSS in 30-06 that I bought a couple months ago.

I'll be buying Leupold rifle scopes in the future due to them actually covering their lifetime warranty.

Leupold is # 1 for warranty....

Except I hear that the Mark4 line has to goto the USA not Korth and for that you have to have the original importer handle it.... which means keep your receipt.

Used Leupold Mark4s might be better priced but have no warranty unless you get the original receipt

I sent in a Bushnell 3-9x in the fall of 2007 that was purchased in fall of 2001, no problem at all with getting it fixed. Rather than telling them to get bent, I'd have explained that their "deal" was no deal at all and you'd rather just have a cheque or another free scope. People are generally kinder when you aren't nasty to them.

Looks like the recession is still on. Bushnell recently informed me [when I called them] that my 20 year old 10X banner is not covered by warranty. Offered me some 4 X 12 for 100 plus dollars........turned down their offer.

WOW thank you very much for that advise FYI it was after I talked all nicey nice to them and they still refused to bend in any way that I told them to shove it...

The price they offered the scope to me was $282.00 US funds it is only $282.00 Canadian funds here, I looked up the scope on the internet while they were talking with me and asked several times are we talking Canadian funds or US funds they kept telling me US.

When I saw that they were not going to cover warranty for any reason then even screw me on the pricing of a new scope that they could have been offered for 1/2 price or something to me I wouldn't feel that I was being screwed by them.

When I purchased the scope Bushnell offered lifetime warranty on it why should I not expect a lifetime warranty?

what kind of bushnell scope? 3000,3200,4000,4200? or maybe one of thier low-end scopes? If it was a low-end bushnell... well, you can't expect a lifetime gaurantee on a 100$ scope.

I've broken every bushnell on your list. I don't care if they changed their warranty to give 2 new scopes for every broken one, I still won't own another. Life's too short fight with junk.

Bushnell warranty takes a long time, but it's reasonably good if your product is reasonably new. They pro rate replacement warranty for older stuff now.

A few years back I sent in a really old 3-9 Bushnell scope with a broken reticle that I picked up at a pawn shop for about $25 and they sent me back a brand new 3-9, much higher quality. I guess it's also about how you talk to them on the phone.:)

I sent back an Elite 1500ARC that had leaked (sat in a puddle in my pack all day) and they replaced it no questions asked.

That said, Leupold warranty service is the best, and I am pretty confident in thier scope products.:)

i think we should buy leupold , i have a bushnel thats new and doesnt focus properly, w.s.s. kamloops will not exchange it, thier expert says nothing wrong, and not waiting 6 months either, so in the garbage it goes, lesson learned, wade

The cheapest Leupold scopes are in the $300 to $400 range. If you buy a Bushnell in that price range, you are into the 3200 and low end 4200 series, and get great warranty service.

If you buy a $100 scope, expect that level of service.

I guess it's also about how you talk to them on the phone.

Let me get something straight if Bushnell would have offered to fix the scope or replace it for their costs I wouldn't have started this thread because they would have at least stepped to the plate with something.

They didn't and they also tried to screw me on the price of the scope they offered me.

For thse of you that are suggesting that I am unable to discuss issues with others I'll give you a little info on myself, I am a manipulative smoozer that fully understands the art of being nice to people to get what I want, it is actually one of my top Myers Brigg's sub-personality styles.

Even after I had used these skills to the fullest with these people and I saw that they were in no way going to not screw me and they continued to be *sses about it then and only then is when I changed my tune towards them.

So people get off the advise or comments about about how I could have spoken better to them than I did... ;)

I would ask them to put in writing the reason for their not honoring the "lifetime warranty". Their inability to repair it is not your problem.
