The .270 is a good choice, however, I like my 7mm Rem Mags better. A little more versatile, especially when going after bigger stuff like moose. However, I don't have the restrictions southern Ontario has so....best bet is to try and find gunNutz here to take you to the range and try out each caliber you're interested in. Pick the one you're most comfortable firing. A lot of guys go out and buy the biggest magnum they can find, shoot a box of ammo through it, beat the hell out of their shoulder, develop one heckuva flinch and then sell the rifle a week later for $200-$300 Less than what they paid for it....don't get me wrong, I just LOVE those deals! However, keep in mind Magnum doesn't make you a better shooter or hunter. Putting the bullet where it counts is far more important than foot-pounds of muzzle energy when it comes to killing an animal.
