Buying a RESTRICTED firearm

Might have changed but, at least in Ontario, there is no requirement to belong to a club/range for ownership transfer.

See decision in R. v. McBain.

W. A. Jenkins J. of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice states:

"...I find that s.28(b)(I) is disjunctive and permits the Chief Firearm's Officer to issue transfer approval without the applicant being a member of an authorized shooting club."

BTW I googled this 2002 quote and found several testimonies where ON CFO disobeyed to follow court order.

Another Ontario horror story that may help.
I recently requested a transfer of my first restricted, they did not ask if I was a collector or target shooter, and I am NOT a member at a range. Transfer completed in 4 business days.
