Guys,

As an eager gun nut who was awaiting the shipment of RFB's patiently, I decided to hedge my bets and go on two lists. I was on the list at P&D (second shipment), but when Wolverine started taking pre-orders, I called within seconds and got one from the first shipment.

Now, P&D wanted a deposit, so I gladly gave them $200. When I emailed to remove my name from the list, I found out the deposit is non-refundable and non-transferrable. Ouch. I guess I should have asked when placing said deposit... no worries I guess - my fault for not reading the fine print.

Now - it looks like I'll be getting ANOTHER RFB soon, since i don't really want to walk away from my deposit. I'll be reselling it in the EE as soon as I get it. Now my question:

What's a 'fair' price to resell and RFB? I'm not a total douchebag who will list for like $3K, but a little SOMETHING for my trouble isn't totally out of line is it? Like a couple PMAG's or something? Given the amount of interest in the RFB on here, I'm sure I COULD sell it for $3K to some sucker, but to me that's just opportunistic and pretty greasy.

What would you do? Sell for the price you paid, or add a little for your trouble?

Thoughts? I don't have the next RFB in hand, but I suspect I will in the coming weeks. Just want to know what other nutters would do in a similar situation.... let me know what you think is FAIR! :)

PLEASE DON'T PM ME WITH 'I'LL TAKE IT!' and stuff like that. I've already had a bunch of those PM's when I mentioned I was on two lists. :D I just want to know what fellow CGN'ers would do in a similar situation.

If someone is willing to pay a higher price there is nothing unfair about it. It's worth what someone is willing to pay. Personally I'd probably just sell it for the price I paid and be happy I didn't lose any money.

I would presell it for what you paid... I presume that a number of guys would not be on the list... you will lose $200 to cancel, so you are not really doing anyone a favour, one could argue that they guy who takes it off of your hands is helping you out... really its all moot, at the end of the day the market bears what it bears, you will try and sell hi you will wait, or you will sell low and it'll fo fast. I would try to get my $$$ back and a little trade incentive as well... why not. In fact i would make a deal with one of the I'll take it guys... demand not supply dictates what something will sell for
good luck!

I would switch places, I'm something like # 13 or 15 at p&d,but some guys are were selling the tavors for more than they paid,it all depends on what YOU feel is right,it's your gun after all.

Put it on for a little more, and see what happens. You took the risk of getting on two lists and now have two awesome, sought after items. If someone buys it from you all the power to you. They're paying the extra cash to get it now and not latter, that's worth something to some people, you're not forcing anyone to buy anything. Now listing it for $1000 more... that's just douchbagery.

I'd sell it for what I paid after taxes and shipping, and possibly round up to the nearest $50.

Alternatively, I might offer to trade on another rifle (eg Tavor).

I'd say in this circumstance you want to move the product quickly. List it for the price you paid, including shipping, and you'll be doing the community a service.

You jumped the gun, so to speak, but at the end of the day managed to get one in your hands quicker, and will be making someone elses day who might be looking at a long wait otherwise.

I paid 2399$ plus tax, so whatever that is. Make sure you get your shipping cost in there and possibly an extra hundred for yourself. It'll sell within minutes.

I just realized one of the benefits of living in Alberta.... I'm sure someone in the Maritimes or QC would LOVE to get a 7-8% discount on an RFB compared to buying one locally. Thanks for the opinions guys... looks like I'll be waiting a bit for the RFB anyway... P&D said up to 3 months for the second shipment to arrive!?!?

If someone is stupid enough to pay more than it costs new then thats their perogative.
We are all obviously stupid in Canada as we pay more for everything all the time anyway. :)

Now, P&D wanted a deposit, so I gladly gave them $200. When I emailed to remove my name from the list, I found out the deposit is non-refundable and non-transferrable. Ouch.

When I put down my $200 at P&D I knew it was non-refundable but they never said anything about non-transferable. I was planning to put the deposit towards a Sub2000 if I was lucky enough to find an RFB elsewhere. Oh well, I guess I will just have to wait.

sell it for whatever someone will pay...if somebody will pay through the roof for it thats their own decision. some people have more money than brains. its simply supply and demand.

To be fair, I've since been told they will give me a store credit. However, I don't need anything from them right now, so I might as well get the RFB!

I say sell it for whatever someone will pay...and good on you if you score big!! RFB's are a hot commodity right now and the fact that you can probably sell it fast should work in your favour. Why feel like a douche for making some money off it? If someone wants to jump the queue (or move up on it fast) then they should have to pay for it. Now with that in mind...who wants to give me $5k for mine? ;)

Non-refundable? on a high demand item? That they are stocking?
That is pretty F'n Lame.

If it was a custom order, that would be different.

I would call my Credit card company an reverse the charges
