I bought the video for the XL650 and it came Canada Post. I will be buying a press and all the gear very shortly. For those that have bought a press or large item from Dillon, how did they ship it? Canada Post, UPS, Fedex? I'm curious because Fedex and UPS are more reliable if getting something shipped to my work, Canada Post better for home.

Thanks.

mine came canada post, p/u at the station- but that was years ago, and they used usps- but you could ALWAYS PHONE AND ASK

Do your dirty best to avoid those money grabbing #######s. They'll charge you a retarded brokerage fee for handling your package. My motto, if they dont ship USPS then its not worth my while. Personally, USPS takes the same amount if not LESS time to get your package to you. The beauty of USPS, NO BROKERAGE FEES :D

just my .02 for you

They will ship USPS if you ask...
But I've heard that they prefer to ship FEDEX or UPS when shipping a press.. they don't like things to go missing in the post office...

(but why buy direct, I can sell it to you cheaper...)

Cost me $226.00 to have Dillon FedEX air ship my 650 with 6 complete tool heads, dies and power case hopper and 4 plates on my account last week. Had it all within 48 hrs of ordering it. Brokered it myself had it set up and humming the same day I got it.

you have two Dillon dealers in BC, Murray Gardner and Kelly Abraham. why not talk to them and see what hey can do for you. it is always better to support your local dealers so that they are around in the future.

I can't work with Murray's payment options. I wasn't able to find anything on Kelly Abraham, do you have a website link?

If shipping by UPS - tell Dillon to write 'CUSTOMER WILL BROKER" on the parcel. They won't charge you the brokerage fee. When the parcel comes in UPS will call you and you go don't to the UPS station, get your paperwork, then go to Canada Customs and pay whatever, then back to UPS depot to pick up your parcel. I've done it.

Over the years USPS has lost some items I've ordered - each time it took six months to settle with them before they paid up insurance ..... but I still use them.

Holy krap, you say this like you got a deal or something.

I agree with "kokanee king" If they ship anything other than USPS they do not get my money.

Watch out for HUGE brokerage fees if shipped by a courrier service. Buy local,
our dollar has dropped significantly.

Easy for you to say if you live near a canada customs office. I dont. I live in rural BC, where the nearest city is 2 1/2hrs of driving. We dont have a customs agency handy here and im sure I could do it online but I have enough headaches in my life....adding Canada Customs to it aint gonna happen........... USPS for me is the way it will be.

I bought mine direct. Beside being raped by fees, Canada Customs held the thing for weeks. IMHO buy from Murry or anyone Canadian.

....and thats the other thing. Canada Customs. I dont care who you are and what you buy from the states and who you get it shipped by. Canada Customs gets the last say as to when in the hell you'll ever see it. My last dealings with UPS was not very nice. In short my package played tag between Customs in Richmond and the UPS station in Michigan. Track it to Canada, see its in customs, rub my hands together, check again to see if its in the mail system...WTF, its enroute to Michigan again? Contact UPS in Michigan and ask them WTF and they say whoops my bad, we'll turn it around once we receive it. My package cost me almost $200 in US brokerage fees. Yes, I got bent over each time it was handled/fondled by a UPS and Customs. I called UPS and told them im NEVER dealing with them again. Guess what I got? A REFUND and an APOLOGY, but my decision still stands USPS or no deal.
Sorry for the rant guys

I got raped for brokerage on car parts from the US years ago. They were shipped UPS, and I wound up paying about 40 % extra on the parts(duty&brokerage).
I promised never to use UPS again, and still won't use them even for in country shipping.
The next time I ordered anything from the south, I had them ship USPS.They only charged $5 in brokerage, and that's how everything I buy there is shipped up now.

No NOT a deal at all, as that did not include my brokering or gst paid out.
The reason I went direct was that I NEEDED it NOW and I wanted a lot of spare parts and pieces.
If I could have found everything I wanted in Canada, and had the time to call around, I certainly would have gone with a dealer here. In fact I think I may have saved some money if a Canadian dealer had what I needed.
Sometimes in business it is cheaper to pay full retail and air freight up what is needed , than spending time to find the best deal.

Looking at the air way bill, I actually recieved my box of Dillon 17 hours from when I hung up the phone from them. Time to me is MONEY.

UPS (the brown guys) are brown for a reason, their service and brokering capabilities are CRAP!!

USPS would have been less expensive for me , AND if you keep the Canadian value under 1600.00 Canada Post does the brokerage for $8.00

I guess the question is how much hassle do you want to incur?
If a Canadian dealer has what you want, I see no reason NOT to go the easy route and order from him. It is not like Dillon is going to cut you a deal. I got to pay full retail pricing despite being a dealer myself, Dillon protects their established dealers, I respect that.

Not to sure what you mean, Murray takes credit cards, and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't turn down cash, I'm curious what else would you be looking for??

I've bought from Dillon direct and from MBGardner, had good experiences with both. You have to watch out for customs fees though when bringing big ticket items up. Dillon is usually fast but for some reason it took more than 3 weeks to ship some parts for my 550, apparently customs is buggering up stuff big time. I had trouble with a shipment from Borwnells also.

I ordered my new 650 last week from Murray because of the buy Canuck thing and because of the 20% drop in dollar we've taken lately.

Just go through the checkout process and fill out the international form on the Dillon web site and they will send you a full quote including shipping cost in your email the next day. In my opinion, you'll find that if someone in Canada still has stock you are way better off buying from a Canadian dealer.

He doesn't take Mastercard. But he and bear say they take Mastercard through (FRAUD ALERT), who unfortunately is anti-gun. I'll see what I can do, if I can support a Canadian dealer I will.
