I'm looking to buy a scope, and I noticed that if I buy from a US store cheaper than here (including currency exchange and import tax).
The US website (optics planet) says "This item may be regulated for export by the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Department of Commerce. Please see our Export Policy prior to placing your order."
I can get it shipped to the US and pick it up myself, but I don't want to run in to any issues when crossing the border.
They have chat support (optics planet), but when I asked the lady said that she couldn't not answer that question, that what I have to do is buy it, write in the notes that I want to bring it here, and then their special department will determine if its ok or not.
If it was like $20 difference, not worth the hassle, but is around $170.
Any suggestions? anyone here purchased optics from the US?
