Can some of you guys clarify something. Has anyone hear just ordered mags from the States directly. Also, as far as mag capacity, is It illegal to just possess a high cap mag, or just illegal to use it in a firearm. The reason I ask is it would be nice if they could just be ordered and pinned myself.

What about dissembled mags? I think you can bring them in disassembled and then pin them yourself.

Dealers are exempt from what I understand, and can import and then pin.

They must be manufactured to comply with the 5 round limit. They are shipped across the border by the manufacturer certified they meet canadian regs. Which usually mean a special order and increased pricing.....

They don't ship. 30 round mags by the box load to a store and hope someone pins them when they get there................

I'm pretty sure they're being pinned on this side of the border.

ok, so did i win? :D

at least finish the story, how did you bring them in ? any slap in the wrist?
Had the bodies shipped to a US address and went to pick them up. Figured it was a part, not a magazine. Declared it at the border, and was asked to pull over. Hour later after having my car searched, they are explaining how I was lucky I declared it or it would be a different outcome. Got a seizure notice, a messed up car, and was sent on my way. Everyone I asked said it was not worth appealing, so chalked it up to an expensive learning experience.

I had a pile of 10 round Glock magazines shipped here from the US, no problem. The dumbass didn't declare what they were properly but customs opened the package and I got them anyhow. Paid $15US a piece for them.

i agree with you that a mag body is a part but unfortunately the laws are interpeted differently by those custom officers so next time you gonna pin it before declaring.
