The vast majority of gun owners don't follow sites like these, or realize what's really going on when it comes firearm laws in order to take part in fighting back.
I mean damn, i can't imagine how many people are still shooting on the farm, or going camping using ruger 25 round mags in their 22's and have NO idea they are illegal now for example.

My understanding is that these mags are still legal! The RCMP E Division sent out an internal memo advising that these mags were prohibited based on an opinion from RCMP SFSS. How many other RCMP Divisions were advised of these changes? I know of none. RCMP opinion is not law.

Yes that's so true. I know so many firearms owners that don't have a ####ing clue about what's going on politically or any changes to laws. It amazes me how sleezy the federal government is when it comes to passing laws and notifying its own citizens... Like you think it would be mandatory to have it posted on the news papers and channels for a few days just so word of mouth would speak of it. Nope, they don't give a ####!

Talk about knowing what's going on-This week past here in NL a guy was convicted on a number of charges. Apparently, a neighbor of his had a dog that attacked and injured his dog on a number of occasions. It had also attacked other individuals in the past. It seems as though he had tried to reason with the owner of the errant animal to no avail. He borrowed a .22 and some ammunition from a family member and proceeded to track down and kill the offending dog. He was charged with a number of offenses and upon being questioned about his lack of a firearms license, he stated that he had heard through the news media, that the gun registry was abolished as well as the need to hold a firearms license to possess a firearm. CBSA blocks them at the door. They follow the SFSS opinion. Other than a lenghty/costly battle with the CBSA, there's no way to get them in. One of the org is in court for that, but it'll take years to win, and when it is won, it'll be an argument for the rcmp to go to politicians to get the law itself changed again, under the principle of "we can't just do whatever we want".
When that happens, it could be ugly, depending on who's in power. Despite what the "no compromise" people keep saying, firearm laws in this country won't get any less restrictive. More comprehensive, maybe, but probably more restrictive too.

I am sorry to say that I disagree with you. At least every firearms dealer in Canada should have submitted a written Brief to the Committee (There is still time) and all the major dealers should be attending in person. Every PAL holder should have contacted their MP but sadly the "Canadian way" is to wait until it is to late. All I can do is try and lead by example, this is very serious.
