C8 IUR Build

There are some interesting things coming. A number of things are happening first including MILSPEC testing and user trials. I'd say it's safe to say there should be something available by SHOT. Can't really say more yet.

You have brought hope to those who have none, thank you.

Are you able to say anything about the rumours of the 10.5in IUR upper? If there's a slight chance, I'm going to pass on a purchase for something else in the works, and and wait patiently for this mystical Colt Canada beast..

10.5" or 11" IUR would be sweet...

Yup. I almost bit the bullet on this 10.5in upper from EE, but I might just wait to see what Matt has to say. I'd be kicking myself for buying now, and then at SHOT they start releasing all these awsome new models. I jumped on the stripped lower, but I should have waited a while longer and I would have jumped on these full uppers that are popping up everywhere.

I want that DMR that Rebel Rouser posted as well

I purchased the 15.7 IUR and Enhanced Lower earlier this week, will hold out for a possible CC/D BCG. It was actually the 2nd choice to what I truly wanted to do but sadly found out they weren't in Canada, but with these new trials, maybe we'll see something?

I wanted to grab the Colt LE901-16S. A 7.62 NATO Colt firearms that has a universal lower where you can swap any MilSpec upper onto it and with a small conversion pack (Mag Well sleeve, buffer and spring) can swap it to 5.56 in less than 30 seconds. Would essentially be 2 firearms in 1.5 pieces. Keep the trigger mech exactly how you like it, keep the feel of the firearms, plus the LE901 lower is fully ambi including the bolt release, making it truly ambi. So I figured a 14.5 IUR in 5.56 along with the LE901 would put me exactly where I wanted. To be able to reach out and touch with higher muzzle velocity passed 300m, and a nice short n stubby for the close ups.

Here's to hoping that something in a higher caliber is in the works, but if other barrel lengths are what's to come, a DMR IUR is definitely on my Birthday List. Definitely keeping up with what Matt will be slipping to us as time goes.

Ah crap this is just like waiting for Christmas when you where a kid... Can you at least give me a ball park figure of what this will cost me so I can start saving up for it.

There are a few 901 in the country, but they were all exported by individuals. Colt hasn't made them in awhile. The only thing they are making for commercial sales in 6920.

Yeah, I emailed IRG about it, they said it would be no problem to start the process moving. If it weren't for the dollar where it's at, I would have gone on with it too. Once the economy balances out of this a Canadian made version of it ever becomes available, I'll snag one.

Thank you- it's quite interesting!

after much soul searching guess i'll just use my magpul MBUS on the IUR. not an 'authentic' option... but i can spend the $$ i'll save on other things... like a Vickers sling etc!

You can always go this way with your build instead of making an RCMP clone:

I'd still like to see a C8 with RCMP rollmarks, anyone have any close up shots?
