C8

I hope some 2-position buffer tubes and some butt stocks become available.

Been stock piling them.

Stockpiling!! You told me you didn't have any CAR stocks left!

Thought that thing would have at least warranted one. You wont get off so easy next time I trip over uber unobtanium. Lol
They are all on rifles. I swapped out all the waffle stocks and put N 1 marked ones. I sold off all the waffle stocks.

Mine finally arrived about a week ago. It cleaned up very nicely, not that it needed any cleaning pe se! I was quite pleasantly surprised by the condition of my C8 Upper - it evidently saw very little use of any sort during its service life. Lucky me, I suppose. Thanks go to Simon Beeson at S&J Hardware for taking such good care of me!

That upper looks mint...well at least very close. Lucky you.

My god I have missed the boat to the promised land on this one!:sok2

The CF original C8 with pencil barrel is the most balanced and easy to shoot AR I HAVE EVER FIRED. It's light as #### and points like a dream and if you are carrying one professionally, meaning it mostly not at the ready, it's the least cumbersome as well. I have always thought most in the military should carry this version. Only the infantry and other combat arms who's primary tool is their rifle need the heavy barrelled versions IMHO. If you are a tanker, mech crew, a trucker or man a typewriter etc then this model is for you.

If I had one I would consider this for it.

you got more details on that scope rail? I agree, this 14.5" C8 is nicely balanced, both in appearance and weight...I'll post my C8 build pic in a couple of weeks after it's cerakote treatment....

Thats an Aimpoint 'gooseneck' mount. Designed to provide a co-witness with iron sights when used on an A1/A2 carry handle and an Aimpoint Comp M2.

Just do the JTF2 mod and put a RAS on it, to make a JTF2 tribute C8. You can krylon the sh!t out of it too if your C8 upper is pretty rough.

Apparently they're USGI from Aimpoint or Eotech for their optics.

The single slot does give it away as being USGI for the M68 CCO (Aimpoint M2). Clearly it works with either. Other manufacturers exist (well, existed). PRI made a nice one with multiple positions. Others have made similar rails for their optics. Cmore, Trijicon, Meprolight all come to mind.

A.R.M.S makes one as well, which certainly has one of the better mounting systems and the capability to allow various types of optics to be mounted.

I just have to know...what is the attraction of any used military firearm or uppers? I have seen first hand how these things get treated (over cleaned, abused, etc). I can only hope these are not operationally used examples. The carry handle uppers are classics, with the US M16A2 windage and elevation adjustable rear sight being the best one in my opinion.

if you dont mind scratches, these uppers have seen very few bang bang, barrel rifling shows brand new, chamber is great, bolt has seen very little use
for the price you get a light little c8 iron sighted carbine
I believe everyone should have one AR15 on irons only, why not this little baby?
