Cabelas chinese sks $219.00!

$219 for the SKS and $79.95 for the case of hand sanitizer and N95 masks to safely operate it. Plus shipping and GST.

We should have boycotted them 20+ years ago. Maybe some of us would still be working in our factories if we didn’t dismantle them and move them to China. Oh well better late then never I guess

Not sure if I am correct on this point, but my impression is that much of Canada's manufacturing and industry went under US ownership or control way back in the 1970's ??
when our dollar was super low and it was easy for our stuff to be bought up cheap.

Then much later, or more recently both Canada and the US have been the victims of Chinese investment all of course with the support of the government of the day.

Please confirm or correct me if I am wrong.

You're not wrong, but you aren't totally correct either. You're also about 15 years early.

Back in the day when then PM Brian Mulroney, leader of the NOW DEFUNCT PROGRESSIVE CONSERVATIVE PARTY, his message to Canadians was "Give me a majority mandate and in ten years you won't recognize Canada."

Well, he kept his promise. He messed with the Constitution, messed with Canada's finances and sold out to the UN as well as other socalled "PROGRESSIVE" policies. By the time he was tossed out for taking baksheesh, the damage was almost irreparable.

Factory row in most large Canadian cities became wastelands of industrial garbage. Some of it was turned into restaurants and the warehousing was utilized but most of it was taken over by the provinces/cities and razed for other uses. We're still struggling under the damage done to Canadian society by Mulroney's blunders.

Did this stop Mr Mulroney??? Hardly. He ducked out to the US, Chicago, where he was implicated in the huge stockyard fiasco, designed to monopolize control of the meat industry in the most influential regions of the US. The only reason the Americans didn't arrest him was simply because they didn't want to embarrass Canada internationally.

Even this didn't stop Mr Mulroney. He continued to be hired by the Liberals to advise them offshore, when making trade deals with countries such as Malaysia, China and North Korea. Strangely enough, India/Pakistan were largely ignored.

The list goes on and on. Even today, Mulroney is still being hired by the Canadian government to advise them on international trade matters and he doesn't come cheap. He has a lot of international connections and monetizes them through charges to the Canadian taxpayer on a regular basis.

My Cabela's Chinese from a the Online Lottery 2 xmas's ago is my most accurate SKS. It has a stock that looks to have done a brief tour in the Congo but it works great. I debated another one then thought maybe i'll leave a few SKS's for everyone else who don't have them yet. (in truth, but the time I looked back with the mood to buy they were no longer available online). Just as well I have about enough SKS's.
