Hey if it shoots well.. winnerPicked one up in Edmonton yesterday. Fugly stock repairs, bolts and pins thru them. metal on them looks goodish, but for under $200 all in? not too bad I guess.
I bought 3 Russky SKSs for $200 about 1990. Should have kept them.
That's actually pretty nice looking congratsManaged to get a jungle stock one. You guys are horrible influences on me to buy guns. Oh well, now my Russian has some company

It's always better to buy from a solid CGN er in any case, maybe a little more money but if you want a nice one EE should be the first place to lookI wouldn't play the SKS slot machine on this one. I like the Russian and Yugo models, very nice firearms. I went to cabela's twice now while Chinese SKS were on sale thinking I'd get one just because, but after going through the whole inventory they were willing to show me I didn't buy one.
Issues I had compared to the Russian models I have (I use the sks as the basis of quality for every firearm I own, if its not as nice as a Russian SKS I don't want it)
- All of the Chinese SKS's I saw in store looked like they had come from a disarmed African Militia.
- Chinese stocks were really beat up (not the biggest deal), gummie chew wood was neat though
- milling of the receiver and bolt compared to a Russian looked like I made the bolt on the Chinese models....
- none of the guns were tight fitting in that with pressure on the front cover and handguard I could get greater than 2 cm of play with pressure, they shouldn't move much
- parts were painted black and rust was seeping out
- wood parts on some of the rifles were replaced with green/black plastic of some sort, mostly the top covers.
I have seen several nice Chinese SKS here on gun nuts and elsewhere online that look fantastic, but like Russians lately the Chinese are more hit and miss. I recommend inspecting in store unless your fairly open minded. As a buy and buying in plastic to ward of Trudeauism then they might just be the cheap firearm your looking for. Beyond that I'll keep the Russian and Yugo.

That's too bad I have always been more than pleased, did you return itNope.. A few months back a solid CGN dealer had a SKS sale .. And we were all dissapointed.
So I'm doing the SKS slot machine through Cabela's... Can't be any worse

Hmm well live and learn guess you won't be in a rush to buy there again..After weighing the return fees and shipping I just let it go and kept.
But we don't forget they were sold not as advertised from W
Sold as $300 guns for $210 but worth $170
