Bought a Weatherby Vanguard 2 in .257 Wby Mag on sale at Cabelas and needed a new scope for this flat shooting caliber. I have a 3X9 Leopold II on my 30-06 but thought more magnification would be better. Looked through all the higher power scopes including the Vortex, Nikon and Leopold scopes. Although my evaluation was subjective, I ended up choosing the Cabela Covenant 4X16 Tactical Scope. To my eye, it was brighter, clearer and the side focus with First Objective Recticle with MOA etchings was what I was looking for in a medium priced scope. So far, I have fired approximately 60 rounds through the rifle and it has passed the square test, (up 4 clicks, left 4, down 4, right 4. Best group so far measured .315 in and zero has not changed. Don't know who makes this scope but, (since even Leopold gets their lenses from China,) I am very pleased with the scope even if it is made in Asia.
