Must have been that Albertan forest between us and our target deflecting our bullets ;)

My first attempt , at the longer range of 140-145 yards verified with my Tasco rangefinder

Thanks go to Skneub for nudging me to give this competition a try. I think I might start working this routine into my weekends at the range. He supplied the targets and video. The range was verified by my Vortex range finder. First bullet fired at 0:31 seconds, and last fired at 1:31, giving a difference of 60 seconds. 5 shots on target at 100 yards using an SKS, Norinco ammo.

Score: 41.6

Id like to officially request a urine sample.....

Well Gunnerlove said he was going to shoot it....so I just had to then.

Three attempts, this was the last and best one (time and score)

Class two (not 2nd class). Diemaco SA20 with Elcan 3.0B. Handloads that I had kicking around looking for a reason to get used.

19 hits, 67 seconds = 142 points

Had nine shooters out on Sunday in Smithers at the Bulkley Valley Rod and Gun Club. Six targets for Class 3 and one for Class 2. My son did terrible and I managed to jam a round in my Ross and then missed everything with my no. 4. We'll reshoot tomorrow. We decided we needed an Open Class for 50BMG too.
Scores are Lance-14.5, Larry-9.5, John G-6.9, John R-12.6, Brian-29.7, Ron-9.4 and Miles-23.3.
Not great but we can keep there heads down until we bring up the 50.

50 BMG bolt in the challenge.. that is pure awesome. I can only imagine the standing, kneeling and sitting position with that heavy of a rifle would be a bear.

So after watching Bolivars awesome shooting I thought I should maybe try and get into that kneeling position he is using cus it looks really stable. Medics are still here trying to get me straightened out.
Sitting position next.

Yeah I can't do it either.
Time to enrole in a yoga class....

It takes a little bit of practice. I won't lie, I do (and did before the video) some warm up in the sitting and kneeling.

I think it was Keith C I was reading that said "Don't let the first kneeling position of the match be your first kneeling position of the day" or something like that.

Practice at home, in front of the TV or something. Makes a big difference.

Two major variations on kneeling

1) support foot lays flat and your butt sits in the arch of the boot vs the top of foot on the ground (in the vid). I don't go side of foot anymore. It's more stable but my leg goes dead for a bit.

2) Instead of resting the mag over your knee, pin the mag well to the inside of your knee with your support hand.

Another try today. Bahhh I can't compete to Bolivar... got better this try though and stayed with course if fire. 13 hits on target at 82 seconds. Score for 79.26 total. Dame rifle as before. DPMS/CC file scoped 1 to 4

Thank you. I'll leave it to the judge...but i'll say 8...the rules say that if i break the line it counts, but it seems likes it doesn't completely break threw so I'm not counting it
