Hey Guys;

So... I was recently bitten by the 50 BMG bug. And, after some humming & hawing, I knew I really wanted a repeating 50 BMG...

Lucky for me, "That Hunting & Fishing Store" here in Ottawa had a Cadex Tremor in stock & I picked it up.

I put a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 on it with ATRS 1.375" high 30mm rings and added a Mystic Precision MPOD.

First trip to the range proved to be a pleasant surprise. Recoil was not bad at all, but the muzzle blast & LOUDNESS of the Tremor is something else! Ear muffs and ear plugs are a must when firing this rifle! I sighted in with XM33 ammo to get on paper. This stuff is loaded HOT!

Now I am waiting for an opportunity to stretch its' legs @ longer distances with some Hornady A-MAX Match ammo...

Cheers
Jay

Jesus wish I had the disposable coin for something like that . Congrats!
Ya, it wasn't cheap, but I did sell some beloved toys to get it...

Sweet rifle Jay!
Didn't you just build a da50?
You must have a particularly virulent strain of the 50 bug lol

Like you wouldn't believe!!! Must be my mid life crisis! Ha ha

I just saw one of those at the local gun store. I was curious how a folding stock would hold up to the recoil. I'd prefer a collapsible m4 style or fixed stock myself. Never liked those minimalist ergonomic type stocks myself. Otherwise sweet rifle!

Jay,
For the MPOD, what adapter did you use for the Pic. rail?

ITB

The one Mystic Precision provides, but my gunsmith Jason Spencer @ Gunco had to machine two screws to fit... I guess the MPOD t-slot rail is #10 countersunk bolts & the Tremor is 1/4 28tpi... Easy fix...

So, no adapter, you took the 1913 off and put the T slot rail back in its place?

I've been looking for pictures, but even on Mystic's site, all I can find is pics of the lower...

Correct, I removed the factory rail & installed the t-slot from Mystic.

A folding stock such as Cadex and several others have created is not a problem. Over time the lock may loosen but chances of failure is so low I would not lose sleep over it. that being said to keep vigilant on the condition of ALL moving parts in any firearm is simply good planning.

A collapsible stock as is used on an M4 on a 50 is a TERRIBLE idea. All that is keeping the scope from your eye and the action out of your teeth is a 1/4 round stud typically engaged in the plastic of the stock.
Having witnessed the failure of such stud on a collapsible M4 style butt stock first hand still makes my head hurt and teeth ache.
