For anyone that was able to make it down to the Easter Gun Show in Calgary last weekend, the new long and short action Cadex Defense chassis was not only on display but for sale as well at the ATRS tables. With it being next to the two difference Accuracy Internation Chassis, it was easy to do a side by side comparison of both. In my opinion, Cadex has the most versatile and comfortable stock on the market not to mention best looking too.

It sure as Hell should be the best thing on the market for the price of it. The price tag is astounding.

I had to double-check, flush my eyes with fresh water, close the website and then look again...expensive doesn't quite describe it IMO.

The also have a chassis specific for the .308 and I'd expect it to be at around the same price.

Superb looking pieces though.

Oh my.

May just have to see what's left in the gun's piggy-bank..!

EDIT..

@ $2,695 for the chassis, I think I will be passing on it for now!

Well you'll be happy to know ATRS isn't selling them for that much. btw, what would you guys pay for this stock without a mag since mags can be purchased at any time?

Well all chassis prices are steep, but comparing it to the rest on the market, I'd say in the $1800-2000 would be fair, not including a magazine, but with everything else in that photo (I don't know if the Cadex chassis have accessory options or not).

.

What is the set price for happiness? What would be a fair price in a perfect world be?

Cost

Some pay with cash, some by their time, some by both but at the end of the day what would you pay to be happy? The price of between $1900 and $2000 seems fair. There is a ton of machining involved. Compare this chassis to others on the market and I would choose this one.

Just my opinion.

I didn't know that ATRS carried the Cadex line - at least it isn't listed on their website and it should!

The MSRP for the Strike 30/33 chassis that I obtained from Cadex directly is $2392.86.

Fair or not fair price is not the question , if some one want one, they will pay for it, that Alot work going to a stock as such.

GB, you're foolish to think price wouldn't be an issue. There are a number of chassis stocks on the market that aren't anywhere the price of the Cadex. The new AI stock will do everything the Cadex will do at almost 1/2 the cost.

The Cadex is beautiful but really not that attractive value wise. For the average "Joe" looking for a chassis stock for a Rem 700, the Cadex is an extravagance that few will find interest in.

Price is alway the biggest factor in this competitive market. But look at the stock carefully, there is Alot of work going to it, not just engineering, but actual work going to make a stock like that, so Iam not even going to complaint about it as being high price, there is also other high price stick out there Like the saber fores Ashbury in some configuration will cost more than 3000USD. And still there is shooter out there will buy it. There is also lower price stock,
if it too high for me , I just be happy with the Sako trg or AIcS.
