Why sell any of them? All 3, .308, .30/06, and .300 Winchester fall within the same "suitable for" range. The .300 is arguably the most versatile and the .308 the least, but the .300 is the most difficult to shoot well and the .308 the easiest. If it were me, the .308 would be a short light 20" carbine, the .30/06 would be a 24" standard weight rifle, and the .300 would have a 26" barrel, probably with a 1:8 twist to get the long 230 gr VLDs through the transonic range, and it would wear a suitable high powered optic for long range applications. At least then the .308 and the .300 would have their niche, while the .30/06 could handle all chores under all conditions, they way God intended it to be.
