Call me Bubba! Russian SKS mod...

Hello all, I ask you your opinion. I've recently purchased and installed a ventilated hand guard on my Russian SKS. I've always liked the look of the SVT-40 and some M1 carbines. Well, I posted my intent on an American SKS board and they had nothing but negative things to say. I consider this to be a cosmetic alteration which can be undone in 4 minutes.(I've done it) What do you guys think?

I think the pics would look better without the trigger lock.....sorry, its just one of my pet peeves.

I like it. I bought one for mine a year or so ago off the EE , but it was not in the greatest shape so I never put it on.

those are OK deflector , i had the same vented HG/deflector on my chinese SKS , not a problem reversing back to the original wood HG when i nolonger use the scope . looks good too .

fyi it is NOT a Bubbajob... it can be undone back to factory spec in 20 seconds.

I also was on a US site and mentioned that my Ruskie refurb has the gold coloured bayo.
They've never heard of it and the jokes began...lol

I got it from sks man or Pauls guns. I tried to find a Canadian supplier as well.

it comes with or without the deflector , i would suggest the one with deflector bcos its removeable and a must when using a long scope .

cheaper at gunbroker.com and fleabay but its a bugger to get them to ship up north .

Looks ok, but I prefer "original" looks, even if the weapon has been refurbed beyond original status. (RBOS? I think I might be on to something here....)
