While wandering through the net last night I can upon a product being sold by TN guns in the us website is w w w dot tnguns dot com. The product is a heavy target barrel for the mosin made from czech uk 59 MG barrels. can anyone get them? I have cash in hand.

"does a barrel fall under the $100 exemption??"

No barrels and receivers need an import permit and need to be handled by a licensed importer/exporter.

I used Questar to get a replacement M98 barrel from the U.S. If I remember correctly, the barrel price could not be over $100 and the barrel was sent to their U.S. office for paperwork and clearance. There was a $50 fee for processing plus additional shipping to my place from their office.

If it's worth it to you, it is possible to import one. If you run the gauntlet without the paperwork, you run the risk of losing the barrel.

Stocks are different it seems. I have bought and had Mauser stocks shipped to me from the U.S. without needing any paperwork. Mind you, the stock prices were under $100 as they were beat up quite a bit but still usable. I always ask the seller on e-bay if they ship to Canada before you buy.

I checked questars website the price is 499.00 for import paperwork now. thank you all for your help. I am going to try westrifle sergey seems to be able to get combloc stuff pretty easily

Man that is one fat barrel, .925 at the muzzle, looks like twice that at the reciever!

yes it is very fat now but I have a huge lathe at work that will take .250 cuts on 3" 4140 all day long so if I can get it here it is making a visit to jenny craig :D

The M/N has the same thread pitch as a Rem 700 barrel why not rechamber a .30 cal takeoff barrel?Harold

yes the thread form is the same but the shank on a mosin is .975 diameter and on a 700 it is 1.062. also I wolud have to hack off the breech end of a remington barrel to get rid of the recess for the bolt head. thank you for trying to give me a good solution though I appreciate the effort.

If you have a lathe . why not get a blank and make your own? seeing that your going to do most of the work aneyway.

yes I can do that but the expense of a reamer added to a $300+ blank makes the barrel form TGI very attractive as it is only 80 us. thank you though.
