can I shoot slugs???

Good lord, get the 12 ga. honey!

Giant Slug defense thread?

Twelve-bore with Ball would do the job. I have .690s loaded with collars for our 3 Zulus.

Five-seven-seven Snider would work well also: bullet is the same weight: 1 Troy ounce.

Being that these are GIANT Slugs, they would be huge enough that NO regular Bullet will penetrate far enough to clobber a lethal zone (if you can find one in the first place). So the trick is to WEIGHT 'EM DOWN with enough lead that they CAN'T MOVE.

Then you start the grill and add BBQ sauce.......

I have one of those. Never tried it on slugs though> LOL/

You only live a couple hours from me, we should go hunting. :) Also, I have tried kosher salt in it and its more shreddy in its effect. You could mount a section of rail to it or use a barrel clamp for lights and lasers.....Badass. :)

With the right set up, yes.
Get a .22 rat shot shell, remove the plastic tip, dump out the lead shot and fill it with table shot.
That should be an adequate load for most common variety Canadian slugs, however if you are considering a slug defense setup for southern latitudes consider a larger grain salt, such as coarse sea salt.

"...remove the choke first..." Geezuz, back to school with you. Cylinder bore has no choke. It's a straight barrel that's made for slugs.
"...and snails..." A snail is a slug with a house. snicker.

Slugs do not like broken egg shells. Let me add that this is a great thread. Little did the OP realize what a can of escargot he was opening up!Laugh2

escargots are actually snails and are eatable. Slugs are eatable if you want to die or get really sick. Can't skin them for there slime fur either. That's why I prefer to go for snail tags rather than slug tags.
