can I zero at 100 yards with 40 MOA base with 65 MOA elevation scope?

Here is the story why I asked this question here before going to range trying it out.
When I asked the dealer to build the gun I specifically asked for 20MOA rail. But not until I received the gun this past Monday had I realized it was still 40moa. This gun has a standard action but weirdly the holes drilled on top of the action have the distance nowhere else can be found. I couldn’t find an aftermarket 20MOA rail to replace it. And it turns out dealer is out of stock for this rail and can only ask the manufacturer to ship to me. We all know how difficult and slow it is to get an American gun make to ship a part.
So I immediately bought a nightforce nx8 because I know according to my math zeroing at 100 yards with 40MOA will be very close. Meanwhile I had communication back and forth with the dealer and manufacturer, and they finally agreed to ship one 20moa to me but it can take months to arrive.
I’m debating should I keep 40moa or swap to 20moa and return 40moa.

I'd use the 40 moa. Keep the other rail, and if you ever sell, it is a great bonus to offer up both rails.

You will have room to dial up to distance with the new scope. Sometimes after plinking at 50, you go 100, then slowly creep further out. It is fun plinking at 300 yrds and seeing what ammo will do. The further you go out, the better your technique has to be to make hits. Great practice. Plus how many can say that they are shooting a 22 lr out to 500 yards?
