I'm going for the "before and after" but never took the before...

Haha, I don't even know what to say but smile and cross my arms "More for the rest of us." Americans would kill to have Norc's available stateside and yet a few here still name call and swear them off, doing little to deter those who play with one and realize that hey, this thing's wicked!

As for parting with it, I happen to own more than one of these gems, and need a new AR upper.

And thanks Deckard :p

Dude, not nice. This is one of the reasons that we had to limit what could get posted in the EE section. Too many comments by the peanut gallery. There's a lot of guys that are into our shooting community as a result of Norinco firearms. Let's not crap on anybody else's stuff.

How 'bout we try to support each other. We get enough of that stuff from the antis.

Check out the 'Main Battle Rifle' forum. Tell me how many people would be into that area if it not for the M-305?

Now back to the original question, anyone have a picture for Ardent?

Ardent - Exceptionally nice job on your NP29. I think posting a "before" and "after" picture set is a great idea.

As for the negative comments on here... does the poster have any real experience with 1911 pistols? I've only been owning/collecting/shooting 1911's for going on 30 years... [a lot of real deal Colts have passed my way]... And so, from experience, I happen to think that the Norinco 1911A1's represent very good value for the money in today's 1911 marketplace. Ask any reputable 1911 pistolsmith if they think a Norc 1911 is a "turd" and not worth working on.

Amazing job on your NP-29. I have one myself and would be curious to know what you did and in what order etc.. The trigger, hammer and finish you chose are top notch imo.

As far the ignorant comments, completly useless. I own the np-29 the commander and the Goverment, all shoot awsome, still paid less for 3 different very functional and upgradable models for less then one "name brand" model that if ou read reviews of them you'll get the same things people compalin of, FTF, FTE etc... The operation of a gun isnt rocket science its not like they have inputted some new radical secret part in these ridiculously priced 1911 that make the function on it any better. Go ahead and pay a couple grand more for a finnished gun, all you get is 70% Cosmetic, and the other 30% of internals that are in there will cost us norinco owners a fraction to install them in our own guns. I think most people that knock Norcs are people that have no clue on how a gun functions.

But again, very, very nice work on that peice. Details wanted!! :D

Meh, Norincos are ok in my opinion. Some of the best steel in the world. If you want to laugh at guys who buy crap, laugh at anyone who has anything CZ. Now that's cheap garbage.

Mine didn't come with the nicer beavertail, it's extended but narrow, similar to the old colt style. Saves the hammer bite but doesn't look as nice. Didn't come with the extended safety or wrap around finger groove grips. One of those "oh, sorry we didn't mention that before you bought it but send it back if you are not happy" deals.......it worked well so I figure I might as well keep it, and it (surprisingly) has a pretty nice high polish blue finish. This is the only nork I considered worthy enough to keep out of a half dozen or so different models I've had over the years.

Norinco's are wonderful!

Ardent,

Beautiful job! :)

I spent hundreds on my first Norinco 1911A1 then a few more hundred on a Norinco Commander (along with many, many hours of enjoyable, instructional labour-of-love time smithing them...) and they both turned out really great. I have since sold them to my friends, owned SW1911's and Colt Gold Cups and I still liked the Norinco's just as well or better.

The SW1911 was very nice. The Colt...rough and WAY overpriced but a very pretty gun in "ultimate stainless".

I am now in the market for an NP29. You did a beautiful job on that one of yours, that's for sure.

Best wishes, Jeff/1911.

This will be my last comment towards you, as I don't want to get sucked in, but have one thing to say since you went to insulting people over the guns.

Bud, I have probably acquired more guns into my collection in a month than you have in total. Hell I sold off 40 of my collection this year ranging from belt feds, to $5000 SAA's, to $4000 HK's. Calling Norinco owners cheap is like saying anyone who's ever spent less than $10 on a meal must be broke. Please change your tone, and don't slag blatent insults.
