I'm searching for my first hand gun and I want something that makes the best of our ridiculous regulations. I would like it to be as compact as is allowed yet still be comfortable. It should have 10 round factory unpinned magazines and a 106mm barrel. Ammo and magazines should be common and affordable. The gun itself should be affordable, say <$800 CAD.
Is there a gun out there that fits this description? Most modern hand guns seem to have normal capacity magazines pinned to 10 rounds and are needlessly bulky and heavy. What's the best hand gun for Canadians? I'd prefer something smaller than .45 ACP, such as .380, .40 S&W or 9mm, but .45 ACP is okay if it's the only one that fits the bill.
I can't seem to find anything that ticks all the boxes. The closest seems to be a Glock 26 with the barrel sticking out the end of the slide. It doesn't look too attractive or comfortable.
So, what would you suggest?
