Canada Post and Couriers

Yeah, they are taking longer, but a bit of thanks and a smile is priceless. There’s a pandemic on, and it’s Christmas. When we can be anything these days, being kind is a lot cheaper !!

I’m grateful to get a tracking number right away from the EE Forum sellers I’ve worked with in the past few months. It’s All Good!

Cheers, Barney

Hear! Hear!
I bought a new shottie from another vendor on Nov.28.
It was in Canada Post's hands on the 30th.
And it's been sitting at the local depot waiting to get on a truck for many days now.
There's a pandemic. I expected this. Not in the least bit bothered.

I live in Saskatoon and ordered 1000 38 cal pistol bullets from Prophet River (thx guys) on Dec 2. The Canada Post IDIOTS sent the package the wrong direction to Edmonton, where it's still sitting according to their tracking info. How stupid are they... really. Lloydminster is a 3hr drive from S'toon. It's been 10 days and no end in sight. Canada Post service is truly pathetic. I think next time I'll just make a road trip and save myself the grief. I'll be lucky to get the bullets before Xmas.

I purchased a scope and mount from another vendor. Got a tracking number the next business day, and notificatiin that canada post had licked it up. The parcel is going from BC to Comtario. I contacted Canada Post yesterday. 11 days after pick up. They didn't know where it is. I was WTF? " It was scanned onto a truck sir! " I asked if they know where the truck is? After a long pause she said she will start an investigtion. I asked her if she was worried about the truck and laughed. Long story short, my parcel and the mystery truck have made it to Winterpeg. Hopefully this scope comes in time for Christmas Holidays. Coyotes be liking their current freedom! I

I'm still being required to sign for everything. I'm my area CP is terrible they don't even leave a notice card until about 8 days later. Only reason I know my package is ready for pickup in from E-mail notification.

I guess you did not bother to read any other postings before you wrote this.

In case you really give a crap, there are a lot of postal workers that are members of GunNutz.

Thanks for the support!

truly pathetic?

I talked to a worker at Saskatoon. Parcels are being re routed due to the facility being so full they literally can not hold anymore. They had two outbreaks of covid in the sorting facility as well. Anything coming to Saskatoon area is heavily delayed. They unload the truck and it sits for days waiting to be processed.

I recently had an issue with a package that went missing / lost that could have been avoided if a signature had been required.
I had a UPS notice left at my house stating that I had to pay $130 in brokerage fees and duty before they would deliver my parcel. I paid the fee online and the next day received a notice stating the parcel was delivered. The problem is that there was no parcel waiting for me when I got home. I would have hoped they would have required a signature for a parcel that was COD. Now I am out the $ I paid for the parcel as well as the fee I paid to UPS for brokerage / duties. In the future i plan to avoid using UPS international for anything.

I have had a similar experience with Canada Post. I don't think there is any point in paying for expedited or priority as you get the same service regardless. It took almost 3 weeks to get a parcel from Saskatoon to Edmonton (a drive of 5hrs if you were to do it yourself for those who do not know). Absolutely ridiculous.

I have had UPS deliver my stuff to the completely wrong house and just go Oh well we delivered it submit a claim if you didn't get it. I was lucky that my phone number was on it and they delivered it to an honest lady (In North Edmonton yet. Thank-you god for honest people).

Kinda entertaining some of the video clips on our home security camera's that catch the couriers deliveries! The best ones are the kids working likley their first job who just pitch the parcel from the bottom of our 4 step stairway, some windmill it, some shotput, some over hand it! Did send in a couple complaints and asked if the want the videos with vehicles and license plates! We're told no nothing they can do!

So far its day 15 for a shipment (Benelli M2) that originated from a Vendor in Saskatchewan with a Final Destination 40 Minutes south of Edmonton . We do know it made it to the Post Office , thats it . No updates ect for the past 14 days , I contacted the Vendor and now I am becoming concerned about loss . I think I will be contacting my Credit Card Company in the near future should nothing get updated within in a couple of days .
No ill will towards the retailers , but if one pays Canada Post to do their Jobs they should be held accountable ! I have had several packages arrive via UPS and Fed Ex last week in a timely manner ! Tired of excuses .

I purchased two items (one was a firearm) from two different Ontario vendors. The items were scanned at two different post offices on Nov 23, and 24th. I had no further updates until one arrived yesterday here in the Lower mainland of BC. The other just updated in the Canada post app to show card for pickup dropped off. So, delivery times seem about double the usual from Ontario to BC.

Mine are going the opposite direction - BC to ON. Check-in at originating on Nov 26. Nothing so far. Guess I'll find out in a few days if it's the same timeframe.

Was mentioned above "excuses"! not only excuses from Canada post, UPS, Canpar but, "some" vendor's also, I ordered a rifle last Wednesday form a vendor and still waiting for acknowledgement or....a tracking number!, nothing but my EMT was deposited no problem!
I get the covid excuses but, being in the mechanical repair and customer service field myself for the last 35 years, we all knew covid would be a little more challenging at christmas! And what, we have been preparing for how many month's in advanced? If your short handed, maybe consider hire more people if your that busy, high volume of orders...maybe put on an other shift or, work some over time, evenings, Sunday's? What ever it takes to satisfy the demand.

But yes, patience is a virtue these day's.
