Canada Post and Couriers

Was mentioned above "excuses"! I fully support that comment, not only excuses from Canada post but some vendor's also, I ordered a rifle last Wednesday form a vendor and still waiting for acknowledgement or....a tracking number!, nothing but my EMT was deposited no problem!
I get the covid excuses but, being in the mechanical repair and customer service field myself for the last 35 years, we all knew covid would be a little more challenging at christmas! And what, we have been preparing for how many month's in advanced? If your short handed, maybe hire more people if your that busy, high volume of orders...maybe put on an other shift or, work over time, evenings, Sunday's? What ever it takes to satisfy the demand.

But yes, patience is a virtue these day's.

If this was from us, please PM, we are shipping same day still and something is wrong if we took the EMT but did not ship (unless a restricted, of course)

No not you guys, and I do applogise for ranting on your post. I will say though , with the interest you have shown, I will try you guys next time excluding my most recent retailer I used.

anyone here opting for smart locations to receive their packages? wondering if that would be best choice to avoid risk of packages left unattended at front door.

Well sadly it's real.

Whats even more sad, is that people leave comments like this! ^^^

Page after page of Canada Post insults on GunNutz, maybe, just,,,,,,, maybe, before you open your keyboard mouths, do a little research!!!!!

As I said before, THE SYSTEM IS BOGGED DOWN TO A CRAWL ALL ACROSS CANADA!!!

We understand some people are reluctant to sign for an item now, and we have adjusted our processes. Where possible, and to avoid contact, we will not ask customers for their signature, except for the following products:

Proof of Identity (POI) items
Proof of Age (POA) items
COD items
Items with customs due
Registered MailTM
XpresspostTM Certified

All other signature items will now be left at your address. The same applies to customs items that have been prepaid in full online but still require a signature.

For POI, POA, COD items, items with customs due, Registered Mail and Xpresspost Certified products: we will leave a delivery notice card (DNC) that directs you to a local post office for pick up.

I talked to a worker at Saskatoon. Parcels are being re routed due to the facility being so full they literally can not hold anymore. They had two outbreaks of covid in the sorting facility as well. Anything coming to Saskatoon area is heavily delayed. They unload the truck and it sits for days waiting to be processed.

This is the scenario all across the country.

Yes, Covid outbreaks everywhere across the country.

Do you expect the postal clerks just to carry on as normal?

If you do, give your head a shake!!

In the end, who gives a F_ck, I just want my order, yesterday!!!!

A few years ago I ordered an AR15 and it was delivered just before Christmas. Luckily I was sitting in my living room at the time because it was after dark. I just happened to hear someone speeding away from my house. I opened my front door to discover it sitting there. When I went on CP's website I discovered that by some miracle I had signed for the parcel. I wonder why people get so pissed at Canada Post

i always loved the CANPAR system where i could pre-sign and ask them to leave it in a particular place. they would lock it behind the side gate, a friend would have them place it in the garage with lockable handle. If it was Ammo i would leave a tims card or something.

Price and times East-West have always seemed higher to me. I recently shipped a small box of 7 chokes and it almost cost $29 for the cheapest option. Would have been cheaper to mail it to the USA and have someone there ship it (if we could ignore their export laws). There are likely less packages going this way, as a lot of items come from Asia through BC and USA, but costs have been skyrocketing the last few years.

It would be one thing if there was measurable improvement in the system but pre-covid there was always a lot left to be desired in their service, and personally most of the issues i had haven't gone away and have not improved.

CP is becoming like the transit system in Ontario. Your cost doubles every 6 years but service only improves once every 17

Here in Fredericton , NB I just found out first hand while at the post office trying to find a parcel , that they are not , at this time at least , dropping parcels that need a signature .
Also , the tracking said they left a card with pickup info but I couldnt find it .
The post office told me they are now mailing out the cards instead of dropping them off .
I also found the normal ancillary post office where my parcels are normally picked up , that was my first stop , had closed but that they couldnt get the website changed to indicate that and they had opened another location which was also not indicated - again it was the people at the post office that informed me of this .
Busy time plus covid and the older knowledgeable people retiring is making everything a little more awkward these days . And as well it adds to the stress and wasting of individuals time . Glad I lived in what I now consider the good times for most of my life

Yeah, they are taking longer, but a bit of thanks and a smile is priceless. There’s a pandemic on, and it’s Christmas. When we can be anything these days, being kind is a lot cheaper !!

I’m grateful to get a tracking number right away from the EE Forum sellers I’ve worked with in the past few months. It’s All Good!

Cheers, Barney

Enjoy the little things in life, right?

So true.

It’s never the guy at ground level who creates the problem, but unfortunately those workers end up having to carry the baggage. It’s really a lot to expect from all of these front line workers.
