Hi,

Canada Ammo has some very good priced primers, the brand is Dominion. Any body has any experience with it? The large rifle ones, thanks.

By the time you pay the hazmat charges to Ontario they won't be cheaper than the primers available there. They go bang and seem to be fairly consistent but they are not great in very cold weather. At least that has been my experience.

I tried the check out and seems no extra fee is charged...? You mean hazmat charge will be applied by the carrier on top of the payment to CanAmmo?

Thanks.

We've been using the small rifle primers for our pistol loads. We don't shoot outdoors in the cold, so I can't answer to that, but otherwise they go bang every time with consistent results. The last order I put in was on Aug 17th and there was no hazmat fee. Just cost + tax.

buy enough for the free shipping and bulk discount to kick in

I've been using them everywhere a non-magnum primer is called for

They have worked well for me in anything I have tried. The LR primers are slightly large in diameter, so I had to polish the inside of the primer feed tube and pickup tubes for my Dillon 550 to make them feed.

When I mentioned cold, I meant extreme cold. They are a great price and it is nice to be able to reload Berdan primed cases with relative ease as well as at a reasonable price.

I'll chime in with some field experience:

There's no extra fees for shipping them. Order more than $200 worth and there's no shipping fee at all.

I haven't had any problems with the Rifle primers. I've been loading them into .223, and so far they've all gone bang out of an AR-15. Same for Large Rifle with .303's in an Enfield.

Small Pistol ones on the other hand are a little problematic. They are a bit hard for pistol primers, and may fail to fire in striker-fired pistols. Hammer-fired pistols shouldn't be a problem. Anecdotally, my M&P9 hates them, I get at least one light-strike every mag. One day I borrowed a Jericho 941 and pumped a full mag full of light-struck rounds through it, and only 1 finally failed to fire.
