Canadian 900 Metre F Class Open International Shooting Tournament CANCELLED

Hi Terry,

Dan Chisholm is fronting the effort and he is acting on behalf of the DCRA. There is an interim captain (Paul Riebin I believe) and others have volunteered if needed, including me. The reality is that there are thousands of miles between coasts and travelling has never been more expensive and prohibitive. Qualification and sanctioning are a touchy subject, and in a perfect world we would have the means and the people to properly campaign for ranking. We don't.

As for the communications, not my department, but i will do whatever is needed....

I too will be heading to Chilli aka Volkes with Glen. The car is all packed and ready for the 1608 km trip to Volkes, then the 552 more k's to DRidge and back home from there is another 1139 km. Thank God I drive a Jetta TDI so it should only be 3 tanks full :)

It sure will be nice to put some faces to these "handles" on this board and the shoot with 'ya all (practicing my Yank for down south)

How many of yous are also heading south after BC for the Douglas Ridge portion?

Glen and Bill for the APRA, Ron Herms and myself for the SPRA (yes Ron is a card bearing member of the SPRA) are shooting for the PPRA's Prairie Provinces Rifle Team. Should be a hoot with these guys and they all shot pretty darn good, just hope I can hold up my end and keep with these guys. We even have nice team shirts thanks to Glen's efforts.

See 'ya on the 31st for the practice opening.

Ron is a panic! He was squadded with a new shooter and he was counselling him to convert his two "3" sighters. I was snickering so hard I damned near cross-fired (and I was squadded with Glenn so it was that much worse!!).

This promises to be a great shoot!

This is going to be too much fun. Ian, Ron, Richard, Keith, Tom, Jeez I better get some of them depends. I got a weak bladder from diabetes and laughing causes dribbles. I been taking a half a ###### a day lately just to keep from dribbling on my own shoes. I'd rather have a bulky bottom than a wet front.

Seriously, I had a bit of a thought after reading Larry's comments. I guess what has to happen is that we miss a few local activities and arrange to get all the F class guys to Connaught. What about picking 4 days in June or September so it doesn't conflict to bad with familial commitments and the regional majors. Might be a bit tough to organize but it would be nice to go strickly F Class at a time when the range isn't preoccupied with the CFRC. If we could muster 4 guys from each Province we'd be able to have an interprovincial team thing too. I think if we kept the number of rounds down to what you can fly with, we could get it done within a week from anywhere in Canada. The expenses would be greatly reduced when you aren't on the hook for the entire CFRC and an F class deal. Although it does seem a shame to go that far and not shoot everything.

Any comments? Yes I know, it's too late for '09 but the world doesn't stop that year.

There's two of us here in NS who are interested. Maybe three. His F/TR is still on the way...:D

We'd all be shooting F(F) at this point.

I'm bringing my new stick up to Connaught for the NSCC/CFSAC in early Sept and hope to stretch her legs past 800m, which is all we have here in NS.

Bill Flintoff in BC was trying to assemble an F(F) team. He would be available through the bcrifle.org website
 
Aaaaaaaaaah Richard! You stole our ensemble. Now how am I going to take the "Bibs" back to Peavy Mart. We took turns drawing on each others backs with felt markers. Keith figured that one out. We got the PPRA spelling mostly right too. We have John Deere hats that we colored over and matching pairs of black and red mutton humpers. Oh well I guess we'll have to stick with the dumb shirts now.
