Canadian Exclusive Kel-Tec SU-16 Predator Available Now!

I can use 10 rounders ... but this is an NR varmint rifle. Gonna have to get a few 5 rounders if I want to use it anywhere outside of a range ...

You sure about that? We have the crapyest wildlife regs in Canada , but I'm sure we can use our 10 rnd mags.

Hunting with 10 rounds of 5.56 in your mag???? Good luck buddy ...

It's 5 centre fire rounds locally here in Ontario ... free free to ask a local RCMP Officer ... I may know a few ... ;)

I didn't say I hunted at all :) but I was told that 10 was the legal limit here. I'll check into it tomorrow. And what do the RCMP know about hunting regs ,around here we ask the forestry officers...:)

Varminting is pest control. "Non game species." No game license required, none of the hunting regs apply - at least here in Alberta. So long as you're not violating the firearms act when you're shooting gophers, let 'er rip.

With the commies in power here, I'm sure they'll find a way to f@ck that up, but the Mounties are generally speaking dis-inclined to bother ranchers and farmers about things like that out here anyway.

And for the next couple years, I'm sure they'll be spending more time figuring out new ways to pick our pockets and piss it into the wind than to make any significant changes to the hunting regs.

You are confused. I DO shoot my 50 beo's and LAR-15 mags at the range all the time. I'm talking about HUNTING ... for which a 5 round centre fire magazine is required.

No 10 round centre fire mags for HUNTING in Ontario or 14 round 5.56 in a 50 beowulf ... period.

I can use the 10 rounders at the range ... but I shoot my LAR-15 pistol mostly when I'm there since I literally can't shoot it anywhere else ... even on private property. It's restricted ...

I can have 5 rounds of 5.56 in a Non-restricted Centre Fire rifle while HUNTING in Ontario. (rim fire is still unlimited I believe)

I can have 10 rounds of 5.56 in an LAR pistol mag in any rifle that will except it while shooting at a CFO approved range (I hear rumblings that the RCMP is trying to change this as we speak).

Good luck if an Ontario Conservation Officer catches you with 10 centre fire rounds in your hunting rifle while out hunting in Ontario. I doubt very much that you will get the either the rifle or the magazine back. Their powers are very broad ...

Many assume that because LAR-15 mags and 50 Beo mags can be legally used in any firearm that will accept them that one can use them anywhere you please ... wrong. Both the CFO and local hunting rules still apply i.e. you still can't hunt at night LAR-15 mags or not. And ... you are still limited to how many rounds your local bylaws will permit in any rifle while hunting even if you own a legal LAR-15 mag in Ontario ...

Hope this clears that up.

No, it does not, sorry if I'm a slow learner, but where in the hunting regs does it say you must only use a 5 rnd mag for hunting? Any legal mag should be ok . The only thing mentioned in our NL hunting regulations , regarding ammo limits , is shotgun, which is 3. No mention of center fire at all. Lar and bro mags are not restricted and are considered legal( here anyway). I just scanned through ontarios hunting regs and couldn't find anything in center fire mag limits. And if you can legally hunt with 7 rnds of 30 30 , in Ontario , which I did with a couple of OPP officers , why can't you legally hunt with 10 rnd of .223 in your legal 10 rnd mags? :)

Yes. You are a slow learner. I live in ONTARIO. I believe that you live in NL where you CAN use your 10 round mags for hunting. Please READ my response ... and yes it is 5 rounds semi-auto center fire limited in ONTARIO for my KELTEC SU16 Predator while hunting ... lol ... :)

I read your regs and couldn't find it , not saying your wrong , just saying I couldn't find it in your regs is all. And I know where you said you live.

As a side note, I have a 30-30 and the tube does indeed mag hold 6 30-30... but it's a MANUAL action ... my SU-16 predator is a huge upgrade ...

I'm not allowed to hunt dear with .223 because it's too small of a projectile.

I also have a Kel tec sub 2000. Because 9mm great than .243 in diameter I am actually allowed to hunt dear with it LOL!!! But since I am only allowed 5 centre fire 9mm rounds in the mag when hunting ...

Think about how many 5 round mags of 9mm I'd have to put in a deer to kill it humanely???

so it's the action that dictates the cartridgelimit? Well ya learn something new everyday. I'd say you would need 20% of a 5 rnd 9mm mag to kill a deer at 25 yards or less:)

Its legal to hunt deer in ont with a 223 . Is it ethical .... I aint goin there, enough threads on that already
