Hi guys, after hearing all the bad press with the PARA pistols I sent out a few emails to different manufactures like it was suggested in a previous thread I started about doing another one with PARA.

I got an email back from SVI, they seem more than willing to do something in regards to a Special run of Candian Forces pistols. He suggested special markings/toolings and reserving custom serial numbers among other things.

Im very interested to see what we can come up in regards to a design. I was thinking a single stack 45, in FDE. With Canadian Forces on the pistol as well maybe something to indicate service in Afghanistan.

Im waiting to hear back in regards to more details, but I just wanted to let everyone know that something is in the works and to save up some cash and would like your imput.

I would also like to get an idea on how many people are interested in this run.

PARA was set up with North Sylvia for the import, I was informed that this would go through CRAFM. I have dealt with Frank before and have nothing but good things to say about my dealings with him.

If its not a PARA im in... But as long as its a special order only for service personel.

The whole afghan thing is kind of ghey... we would get more DND personel if we left that crap out... afghan is a s**thole and having it on the pistol just dosent make sense... been there done that and its the last thing I want to remember when I hit the range.

Lets not copy the Para one... a digital cam would be kick ass..

and have a service # as the serial... why Para didnt want to do it is beyond me... I would buy 2 if my service # was on it...

I will draw up a few idears...

+3. I would likely get one for me and one for my Dad (who is ex-military). We would use them in WildBunch SASS, which would definitely be in fitting with them.

Because its for us... The service member...

If everyone want onboard then its not a special edition anymore...

This was also beaten to death with the last service program... If you want one Join the big green machine or Make your own CGN one...
 
Dlask is another option that's been thrown about that I think might be a good choice, possibly my first choice. With Dlask, we could basically choose what we want from scratch along with what features are desirable. Personally, I would love a Dlask commander sized 45ACP bob-tailed or full size 5" with a rail, along with nice frame checkering, maple leaf engraving, and/or better yet, element ensignia (Air, Land, Sea) engraved slide with custom serial number (service number)
As for CF ident on the gun, the painted on shzt is just that, shzt. It's a finish that with use will wear off.
Engraved/roll marked is the way to go with this IMHO.
I for one am not into color schemes, it's already been done as was mentioned. My vote goes to blued/black/stainless
I like the thoughts of something like this as a start point then add features like checking on the front of the frame, night sights, etc, etc.
Could do a poll to determine the most popular options amongst those interested?

Aaannnnd.... If anyone has any warranty issues/concerns Dlask is in CANADA. No issues with retailers/middlemen/borders...Call the people who built your gun and pop it in the mail, simple.
If something like I describe came into fruition it would be next to impossible for me to resist buying one. I know it didn't take much will power on my part to not jump in on the "painted Para's" with Afgan insignias. I think something non OP specific would be much more inclusive and appealing to more CF members, past and present = more interest, more orders.
There's my 2 cents.
 
i know it would be a bit harder to get your element taged on the gun in so way(this would be cool),but what would be the ultimate coolest thing ever and the best thing you will ever have in your safe would be to have your service # as the ser # of you gun
